Just saw this fellow left me a negative feedback.
Our transaction:
He paid for a ZT0450 pocket clip ($15) on 9/24 (Saturday) I shipped it on 9/26 (Monday). Apparently USPS lost it. I shipped it in a bubble wrap in a white envelope regular mail no tracking. He wants a refund saying he'll be out $15.
I shipped it I didn't fuck it up, so if I refund then I'm out the clip. I have over 80 positive feedbacks and because USPS messed up he gives me a negative.

Your obligation is to deliver the goods to the buyer. You pick the delivery agent. No delivery? You owe the buyer a refund - here and in all fifty states.

I did pick I used USPS, they lost it not me. Because there was no tracking # as far as I know he can have it or maybe he believes I never shipped it.

Doesn't matter what he thinks. What matters it whether the goods were delivered to him or not. YOU are responsible to see that the goods are delivered. Its the custom here and the law in all fifty states. Period.

mailed like regular mail...stamp enevelope style? so no insurance, although usps almost never pays when they mess up anyways.......

so you have no way to detemime if the letter ever got there or not...no signature no tracking.....bad situation for all. assuming im interpreting this all correctly? i hate to lose money like anyone else, but you did take a big risk with no signature or tracking setup. no protection for either of you.

if it were me id give him back his 15 bucks, but that's me. id be annoyed doing it, knowing i actually did mail it and usps dropped the ball or whatever happened, but id still give him his money back if i didnt pay for tracking or signature or insurance or something to protect you both.

Yeah the no tracking is my fault.

My positive feedback means a lot to me. I'll refund the $15 if that negative feedback goes away.

It doesn't matter how many positive feedbacks you have, he paid for something and didn't get it. You owe him the $15. If your feedback meant so much to you, you would have already given him his money back.

If you didn't get a chance to offer a refund, the negative feedback was premature imo.

You should refund him regardless, but the only person who can delete feedback is the owner of blade forums. On the flip side of that coin, if he left negative feedback before you two spoke, he's in the wrong too.

Yes. On the bright side it's a valuable lesson for a small price.

Shipping small items I use the 3M Plastic Bubble Mailers and send via First Class with Tracking. It's not getting ripped accidentally. Selling and shipping anything has a $5 base cost with Paypal, the mailers and shipping so $19.95 is pretty much the lowest priced items I'll deal with.

So, you did not offer the buyer a refund when he advised you the item never arrived? Please advise the timeline here.

Language. This isn't the part of the forum to use that type.

You as a seller are responsible for getting the item to the buyer. You cannot prove that you did that. It is on you to refund him. I'll also assume that you used paypal the wrong way or else he would have simply filed a claim and got his money back. You need to fill in some details about who said what and when. Your positive feedback is important? Not worth $15 or knowing how to responsibly conduct a deal IMO. Seems like you earned that negative feedback to me.

maybe cause i see the best in folks, but i think its a case of getting it done, not considering something could go wrong and then disappointment side taking over...not so much he earned the bad feedback. just honest mistakes made and things went wrong and its disappointing to have shipped the item, but without protections due to trust in the system and it backfired. good learning moment for all. hopefully buyer and seller can work it all out without the emotions and disappointment the situation caused. in the end better to learn a lesson on 15 bucks rather than 100s of dollars.

True that it is better to learn this lesson on $15 and that it is extremely disappointing to lose something in the mail. You take a small risk every time you drop something in the mail. I don't insure small inexpensive items when I ship them. I take the risk on the insurance. I know I am doing it and I am readily prepared to refund the buyer if the item does not show up. I always use tracking though so I know if it shows up or not. You can always mitigate risk to a certain degree and ignorance is not an excuse for not doing so.

In this case if the buyer asked for a refund but was denied by the seller the feedback is completely warranted. It is also interesting that the sale thread is from 5 months ago and is only being brought to attention now.....by the seller. I wonder what the buyer has to say.

Hi im the buyer I didn't want to have to leave you negative feedback but feel I gave ample time to make things right. I do believe you shipped the clip and I assure you I didn't recive it. I feel that since you took the risk of shipping it without tracking to save $ I shouldn't have to pay for this. I have email support explaining the situation asking them to remove native feedback because you told me you would make it right.
The reason the sale post is old is I was searching for a deep carry clip for my ZT0450 and came across this one that hadn't sold.

How did you pay? Goods or gift? Did you ask for a refund but he refused and then you left negative feedback?

I payed via PayPal gift. I asked for a refund and was denied. I know USPS lost this so it sucks for both of us. If seller refunded me he's out the clip and money. But Im now out of a clip that I wanted plus the money and seller was out nothing. It's a risk shipping without tracking because no blame can be put on USPS.

Did he ask you to pay with gift?
