Mnandi: My latest Obsession

I had to pass on Franzdom's jigged rosewood yesterday and it hurt, but every time I reach in my pocket and feel my mammoth ivory bark I feel better. I would love to have a lignum vitae too but I can also urge anyone with one to hang onto it. As many mnandis in this thread that have been owned by multiple members it's selfish to push someone to sell before they're ready

These were incredible scores, as time passes it's going to get harder to find old school mnandi's, you did good, especially on the damascus and BG-42:thumbup:

There are some very special new aquisitions shared here again lately. The logevity of this thread is wonderful. Always something new and beautiful to enjoy. :)

While "hunting" on-line today I found and ordered my grail Mnandi in Mammoth Ivory, just the color, texture, and appearance I personally prefer, from several offered.
Will share pictures as soon as it arrives from BG. ;)

Hey everyone. The last few days have been crazy I really didn't mean to buy as many Mnandi as I did, but I just kept finding really great ones! These things multiply like rabbits! Anyhow, here are the updates. I think they each deserve their own post.

Something tells me the UG is here to stay. ;)

Your pics are great, makes me miss it already. Enjoy my old friend!

My first Mnandi arrived over the weekend. A nice Lignum Vitae thanks to a great BF member. I normally carry and Umnum but this made it into my pocket all weekend.

Beautiful Mnandis here :). Is the jigged work direct from CRK or custom? I've never seen jigged work on one of his knives.

I received my first yesterday and am very, very pleased. It has ebony plates, is beautiful, exactly the right size for carry in my dress pants and is exceptionally sturdy for a knife of its size. I expect to carry it for many years.

Wow, some really amazing Mnandi collections here!

This is still my one and only Mnandi right now. I briefly had a nice, cream colored mammoth ivory. But it wasn't really my style, so I sold it. It's not super fancy, but I like the bocote, and the "unique nail nick". The Mnandi's design is so simple and elegant. Definitely one of my favorite knives, and I hope to add more of these in the near future. :)

Beautiful Mnandi my friend. Bocote has always been my favorite wood by far, especially on CRK. I have had a 2 Mnandi in Bocote that I sold/traded away some time ago and I miss them. I currently now have 2 - 21 Sebenzas with Bocote and they are beautiful................A friend told me that Bocote is almost like a poor mans mammoth ivory. You see it with the most intricate figure, and then you see it plain. Bocote is usually never exactly alike, unlike other woods. Congrats on a great score. I hope to again down the road add a Bocote Mnandi to my CRK collection.
