Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Attention to detail is amazing. I don't have the heart to cut anything with my new child who is now exactly a month old. Born on 25th Sept 2013. My photos are amateurish and my pictures don't do justice; there are just too many amazing pieces here and so many uber rare Mnandis that I can only dream of. BTW, my Mnandi came with a large Chris Reeve box not the older thicker smaller ones. Is that just me?

Found these two Mnandi in the same box on my front step.......Macassar Ebony and ......

side note; Take a look at the differences in the blades....wow! This Snakewood is the only S35V I own, and I do love the blade on it. It's well finished (compared to the other S35V Mnandi's I've owned), scary sharp, shaped perfectly, buttery smooth, and I can open this one with my thumb only.

Awesome Eric, a great way to resurrect this thread from page 2.
I know you've been hunting down a Macassar Ebony for some time, the Snakewood is a great bonus.
Congrats!

Very Nice Eric, love how the ebony matches on both sides and that is an Excellent example of Snakewood, congrats brother :thumbup::thumbup:

About 10 months ago, I jokingly and with much lead in, posted a photo of the first WALNUT Mnandi shone on this thread. I later followed with an additional post suggesting I would put a Raindrop or Ladder Damascus blade on it. While waiting for my place in rotation, Basket Weave Damascus became available. Thanks to the guys and ladies at CRK, the below Mnandi was re-born. I would also like to ad, this was a Christmas gift from my lovely lady last year. They are both keepers ;)

Hey guys,
mine seems to have slight vertical blade play when not locked up. Is that normal? My large Sebenza doesn't have that, its rock solid whether locked or not.

Regards

You definitely got two keepers Eric!
That new blade looks phenomenal with that walnut, congrats!

I can't believe that I had to go to page 4 to find this thread! This just will not do! Thanks to a wonderful BF member and Mnandi queen (we all know who she is) ... I was able to secure the Honduran Rosewood Mnandi that hit the spot for me. She will be a very welcome addition to my Mnandi drawer!!!

Beautiful Dennis, your cornering the market brother :D

Anyone that loves using traditional folders will love the mnandi.

Thanks Dino .... right place, right time. Lady luck was smiling on me!

Now that's the way to bump this thread

Thanks Alex. Always glad to contribute to this thread ..... which, by the way, has the most number of views of any thread in the CRK forum, except for the folder images sticky thread! However, even though the folder images thread has more than twice the number of views, both threads have 88 pages as of this date! Neat! Obviously, the Mnandi is an obsession for some of us.
