Model 1 Blade Blanks

Thanks guys.
I'm really stunned by the interest. I have a call in to my assistant (I asked him to post here too).

Here's the roughest tang I could find. Most are longer than this.

I'll be sending email confirmations this evening and tomorrow morning.

Thanks again everyone!

Wow, thanks very much guys!

I think we have enough for a week's worth of work, so I'm going to stop additional order orders.

If you haven't already, please send an email with your steel specs and contact information to admin@robertsknives.com.

I'll be forging the additional blades this evening...good thing I just tuned the air hammer :).

E-mail sent as requested. Hopefully everyone that replied comes through. Whoever gets their knife/knives finished, posts pics in the custom knife section. Should make for a great thread.

Matt,

e-mail has been sent regarding this project. I also have a question in that e-mail. Looking forward to your reply.

Paul

Update:

If I received a confirmation email this morning or before your knife is forged and ground. The blades are in the oven for their second spherodize anneal. We did some pretty serious work today :).

Tomorrow will be the final steps of HT. Finish grind Thursday.

I'll keep everyone updated.

Matt,

Will the blades be stamped (name or initials), etched or naked?

Etching will only be sanded off in the finishing and stamped has your reputation on an unfinished product, unless you do one stamp for a finished knife and maybe initials for a forged blade only.

If they will be shipped without mark, would you consider etching your mark on a finished knife as long as the finisher has his mark already on the knife. It would be cool to have both names on the knife, per your approval of course. The knifemaker finishing my knives will not put his etched mark on the knife without the original makers mark.

I'm not sure what the proper protocol is for this sort of thing. Worse case is there are no marks, due to it being a collaboration of different makers.

I'm interested in a one of these blades so if you're prepared to ship to the UK and either have one spare or are taking orders for a future run then count me in. Ideally I'd take W2 but i'll take any going at this point. Thanks.

Thanks guys!

I'm finishing the tempering cycles today (and probably tomorrow). I came to the realization that I need more HT'ing ovens. Cycling three different steels (at three different temps) took much more time than I anticipated.

I should have enough blades for the people who snuck in after Monday.

Thanks again,

Matt

By the way, I did as much hamon work on these as I could. The hamons aren't wild, but they're there.

so will you email us to send payment?
also, what is the ETA for the big 3V choppers?
Thanks!

Matt
I know I am late but if you have any left available, I am interested in one of each. (L6, W2)
If I am late OH well, you snooze you lose.
Thanks

Those of us who ordered, sent him an e-mail to make a formal request (steel type and quantity). I suggest you do the same if you really want them. I'm guessing that there might have been some request posts that fell through/go unpaid, and you might get their order.

This is what I would do.

I just paid for both of mine, and they are shipping this week.
