Recommendation? Modern/Futuristic Knives?

Skallagrim is my spirit animal. I skipped this one cause Star Trek isn't really my thing. But will definitely take a look now. Good share.

Here is a pretty similar vid from him. His commentary is fantastic, the movie he is analyzing has to be one of the most ridiculous films ever.

Guardians had so much potential and just missed the mark.

D Drop bear I have to admit you and Skallagrim may have changed my mind on the Bat'leth to some degree. But I'm sure we agree, some things are inexcusable...

Only the 20.5'a

Demko AD-20.5 is made in Taiwan. The full-size AD-20 and the slim ad-20 are usa made. The Flytanium arcade is made in Taiwan and the sharklock was leased to Flytanium by demko
I think you misunderstood something. I said flytanium produces in China, I did not talk about the knife. Also, I think the correct term should be only ad20, not just ad20.5 because as far as I know, freeReign is also produced in Taiwan (It says so on Demko's website). I don't know about custom Demko products, but I think if we count correctly what you said about mass production, only AD20 is produced in the USA. The rest are Taiwan. However, I am not sure because sometimes it is possible to encounter a question like this: the parts are from Taiwan but they are also assembled in the USA.

If ‘modern/futuristic’ is in reference to materials, these might qualify. Carbon fiber, Terotuf, modern CPM stainless and tool steels…

Dammnnnn... Those are beauties. I absolutely have a thing for those Japanese style fixed blades with the seamless wooden sheath. I think the sheaths are called sayas?

Yep. Well, saya. The Japanese don’t use an ‘s’ to denote plural. So, one hamon, many hamon. One saya, or a heap of saya.

I‘m reluctant to call anything I do Japanese, though. Nothing about them that’s traditional. Just a typical American latching onto a foreign aesthetic or style he barely understands and appropriating it to his own bastardizations. 🤣

Oh shucks.. YOU made those...! I didn't realize that. Very nice work my friend! Those are some incredibly beautiful pieces. Some very cool innovation in materials also.

I had a feeling that the "s" isn't good in that frame of reference. Thanks for the short Japanese lesson. 👊

I find that “futuristic” often just means “weird with lots of arbitrary hot spots and stress risers”.

Only sometimes. Whether futuristic means hard corners or straight lines can vary. This TwoSun TS351 is more comfortable than I expected. I hear good things about the WE Reiver and Mini Buster but I never had them in hand.
