"Modern" Style Lockback/Slipjoint Knives, with a Caveat

Take a look at the last two shadow patterns on the knife maker exchange from Bret Dowell. In general most shadow pattern knives would fit the bill.

Here are a bunch I can recommend:

Benchmade Small Summit Lake (love this knife!) this one has custom linen micarta scales, it comes with Dymondwood scales (2nd pic).

Moki Fish Owl, comes in two sizes.

Fallkniven U2 & Blackhawk

Here is a Buck 112 but with more modern paperstone handles. You can still find this model on the large auction site.

This is the GEC #99 with more modern orange delrin handles.

Not sure if it's modern enough for you, but I just got this Smith and Sons Mudbug and it's pretty cool.

Also, some online retailers are set up to let you filter their knives by things like handle material, lock type and opening style. I'd link to one that does that but I think it's against the rules?

I just picked up a AG Russell 3.5in Titanium Lockback knife which has VG10 for the blade. Quite a nice knife if you like a more modern take on something that looks like it was inspired by the canoe pattern take a look at this.

I had no idea there were so many traditional pattern knives that have been set up for clip use. Cool stuff fellas, thanks for the tips!
