Let's see pics of knives that are:
  • Modern, influenced by Traditional designs OR
  • Traditional, influenced by Modern trends
Some examples:
  • Traditional slip joint designs made with modern materials (G-10, CF, modern steels, etc.)
  • Traditional features that have been re-thought with modern mechanisms (e.g., Monterey Bay Knives EWC - top flipper / slip joint combo)
  • Modern designs influenced by traditional designs or features (e.g. frame or liner locks with a design traditionally seen in old-style knives)
  • Modern takes on classic designs (e.g. Spartan Blades daggers)
  • etc
This could be interpreted in a pretty open way. Use your own judgement for if you think it belongs here.

WE knives Rusty Gent, everything is flushed with good workmanship, I like this far better than the few Lionsteel I owned.

Depending how you look at it, but I do consider SAK as modern 'traditional'. Some of it's models have lineage goes back more than 125 years ago.

I had them for decades, never liked them, sorry.
Still have them, still don't use them.
My dream and goal was to have a good locking blade.
Goal reached.

My dream modern slip joint would be a Manly wasp dressed in micarta, without the pocket clip and with a lanyard hole

Thanks Stairway. It is a nice well built knife. Same city in Italy as Lionsteel I believe.

Marbles MR431 Sow Belly Stockman.
Canvas Micarta covers, and D2 blades.
(pinned construction)
SK Blades "Smoke Jumper" and "Shield" Buck 110LT. both have a FRN handle and a CPM154 blade.
I don't know the RR numbers, but Rough Ryder has a "modern" (medium 3.5 inch closed) stockman and (full size 4.125 inch closed) trapper with anodized aluminum covers, screw together construction and VG10 blades.
While the Rough Ryders have screw together construction, I don't believe they are meant to be taken apart.
