I like what you are doing to it to make it uniquely yours.

I have a bunch of 212’s they all have different handle shapes and the Buffalo horn one is by far my favorite to use. The handle is very flat and narrow yet tall. It works well for this knife.

It looks the best as well.
Makes me wish I had just went with a piece of walnut and replicated this handle shape.
The thickness was the biggest issue.

You must have added that choil to the blade?thats one thing I wish thry did at he factory on these knives,I like that much better.

Well it's done and for my first stacked leather handle I'm happy with it.

A few imperfections here and there, but that's my handy work for ya ;)

I'm also pleased that it still screams classic Buck and steel feels like I'm holding a Buck knife with how it tapers down towards the pommel.
If feels about like a 102 with an extra 1/2 inch.

I really hate to dislike most of Bucks classic phenolic belt knife handles, but the sadly the 102 is the only one I've handled that I was perfectly fine with.

I agree 100%. The sweeping grind make a wide choil necessary. Wide enough to be a good spot to strike a ferro rod

Hickory n steel Hickory n steel i like your stacked leather a lot. The thinnest stacked leather handle I’ve ever seen. Nice job.

I like your solution to the pin. smart.

I liked the old leather, what went wrong with it?

the new leather is sharp lookin too. and matches the sheath so no new sheath needed.:)

well done on it.

Thanks.
There were too many low spots and the handle was already getting too slim.

I liked the old leather too, probably a little better actually but I thought the black leather really screamed Buck.

I'd love to see Buck put out a stacked leather version of their own, this blade is just so classic.
It really reminds me of the old Marbled woodcraft design , but Buck made it look much better with their beautiful swedge work.
They just really understand the clip point blade.

I think those were jigged Buffalo
It sure does look much nicer than the standard black phenolic on this model.

You know seeing how they did some ? Of these with the wood spacers I'll bet I could have done the same thing using a piece of stag and it would be pretty cool.
I may have to try that sometime on a knife, probably not a Buck but I'd like to try it on a knife for sure.

This may give you an idea as to where the pin that holds the butt cap in place is located.

Btw I believe I forgot to thank you for this.
It definitely helped me figure out where it was, even if I failed to center my drill bit on it.
I'm surprised I even hit it at all when I just could not see even a hint of it.
