Dylside - can you provide details on the glow material? I like that idea.

Here is a link on glow powder. I have a knife with glow power in the first two handle rivet holes.

I am thinking about taking it out, and replacing it with glow powder that glows for longer.

There are several knives with glow on the handles. Some of the stuff will glow for 12+ hours I think.

I got my GITD powder and pre-mixed liquid from Glow Inc - http://glowinc.com/.

Wow, very nice, stoffi! How long did it take you to convex the edge? Can you explain the process you went through to do it?

Thx! I've just picked up on convexing blades... so I DO have a problem with the tip area, as I seem to be blunting it off all the time. Oh well, practice practice...

What I did:

first I didn't like the 20° v-edge, so I went ahead and reground it to about 15° v-edge, which really made it a good slicer. If I buy another Izula in the future, I'll definitely keep it at like 10-13° v-edge.

Liking my Bark River Necker so much, but preferring the handle design of the Izula, I decided to fully convex my Izula. The method? — mousepad and sandpaper. It's a bitch to do in general, but since I had already reground this blade to 15°, it really didn't take more than a couple of hours. I'm not entirely done, as it's not hair-poppin' yet, but I wanted to stop and try it out a bit first, to see if the geometry was too steep and whatnot.

So, how did it compare to the previous 15° v-edge? — a lot! It really performs better now.
