Thanks all. My mom is in good spirits. She is staying strong for my dad I think. I should get a report as to the next steps for her. Your prayers, smoke and well wishes are very uplifting.

Just wanted to give an update. One kidney is dead and not functioning due to lack of blood from the clot. The other kidney does have some function. They are going to do a biopsy on her ureter to make sure it is not malignant, and focus on getting the one good or semi good kidney working well enough. It may mean dialysis from now on, but the Dr. says she was lucky. The clot could have gone to her heart, or her brain and caused much more damage than it did. I guess staying positive is always the best way to deal with this. Once again, thank you guys for just being able to vent. This community is a family, and I treasure it greatly.

I'm very sorry to hear about this Chris, but glad that it wasn't the worst possible scenario. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
