Monday- Friday Go to Work in a Suit and Tie People, show me your EDC!

I know it can go either way. But I'm still not going to bring my manix to work in a Corp environment!

^ great suggestion it's on my very immediate bucket list! I just grabbed a cadet in the meantime, I'm thinking I feel most comfortable with a sak having never worked big corporate before.

I work at a more upscale cutlery shop, I have a designated suit knife which is a Spyderco Schempp Bowie, sad part is I have matching tie clip and cuff links.

A small vic classic for general office use, and a vic bantam or spartan if i know i'll need to cut stuff. An alox vic bantam is a good back pocket knife, which helps with the other problem of formal attire, that is things falling out of crappy suit pockets when you sit down.

940-1 or ZT0450.

Both thin and not too aggressive looking.
I think the key is also to only whip it out when necessary, and to do it on a casual way.
"Oh this? I always have that on me", maybe it doesn't work like this at all, but I do so that people might think "Hmm, so he always had a knife on him all this time, didn't know that" instead of "Why is this moron always playing with a knife?". I live in an area where carrying 'weapons' is frowned upon very much.

Curiosity for those folks who are wearing formal business attire, like dress suits and dresses and live in a place where carrying a knife is not the norm, what are you guys EDC'ing?

I live in tri-state NYC and I carry anything from a GEC72 to a Northwoods fruit knife or Case mini trapper. I'm thinking of switching this up to an Alox Cadet as I'm about to be made an offer at an ultra conservative workplace that is ultra corporate with over 200,000 employees. I'm unsure if carrying a knife in its purest form would be considered odd. I'm thinking a SAK is almost universally accepted.

Do you work in some corporate environment in a city, what are you EDC'ing? The Alox is the way to go right?

I I think your idea of a Alox Cadet or maybe a Classic Alox would be the way to go in an environment like you describe.

Gec 66 is what I have in my pockets at work. I do rotate it out though for other traditional styles and sometimes the sypderco dragonfly.

Great topic! I'll see if I can get some pictures of my EDC rotation later today.

BladeCommander you live in Texas brother! I love those EDC's but I don't think they will fly at where I'm going, lol. = )

Well maybe not the moderns, but perhaps a smaller traditional type?

Northwoods fruit knife here is one that I'm keeping in my office work edc rotation.

That's what I'm talking bout!
Also GEC have been coming out with quite a few smaller knives in the same size category as that (Coyote & #14 coming soon).
The Mnandi is also a very good suggestion.

I also see a Case mini copperlock being a good office EDC. I accidentally bought the big one not too long ago, the full size is basically a streamlined/slimmed down Buck 110!

I carry a Benchmade Kulgera with a thin titanium low rider clip. The clip looks like a pen clip, so any knife with the 3 hole standard clip would also work.

Microtech Executive Scarab...it has Executive in the name so it shows you have ambition...

Since nearly any folding knife is illegal in NYC anyway, if you're going to break the law you may as well go for it and REALLY break the law!

My suit and tie carry, Boker Plus Urban Survival. Small, discreet.

My office cary the last few weeks:

Instead of the Sere, I'll carry anything I have with a black lowrider clip (or occasionally my Izula):

I alternate between the serrated Delica and he Pacific salt depending on mood.

Always have a Victorinox, though!

^ lol that's great! Where's your office the serengeti?

It'd be interesting to walk around NYC with a Ig folder just because.

This is why my colleagues refer to me as a "knife guy" (mentioned in the other thread)! ;)

I actually use my main folder a lot. I work in IT and I'm constantly getting new shipments of materials in. Boxes beware!
