Over my two week spending spree I bought a Ti Tyrade and RAM from Sooner State Knives and a MUDD/ZT0500 from Moore Cutlery. Both of these retailers had the knives in stock the websites said they did (which was a SHOCKINGLY rare occurrence on the MUDD) and I had an opportunity to have a nice conversation with the owners of both companies.
They were extremely polite and helpful and were willing to work with me on checking out a knife before I bought it. Both happily checked out the blade centering and lockup (etc) before sending it off to me. Moore actually did a superb job and actually opened up his remaining inventory of MUDDs and gave me whichever he thought was best--a note was left in the clip saying "Checked by Me--Moore" which, while technically irrelevant, gave me confidence that he was willing to put his name right on the knife and standing by that it met his and my specifications. And he was right--the knife is perfect.
SSK and Moore are really shining examples of customer service and low prices, unlike some knife dealers who charge huge premiums yet aren't willing to do a simple lookover for the customer.
