Mora 2000

I waited a long time to get one and shouldn't have, it's really a great blade. The handle dimensions aren't exactly perfect, but some tape to thicken up the front helps a lot. The blade itself is fantastic, good width and easily sharpened. Slices like the devil!!! The sheath is a little lackluster, but I love my kiahs sheaths for it. Or overall, great blade, edge, and size, decent handle, crappy sheath.

Just get it, you'll spend at least three times as much trying to find something with equal cutting ability.

Good knife. fairly thin and wide blade, comfortable though ugly (according to some) handle, unimpressive sheath, good stainless steel. Interesting grind, scandi that transitions into a flag grind, the thinner flat ground end of the blade does cut a lot nicer through some things like food (especially cheese).

All round I'd say it's an excellent knife for $30.

Badass sheath pistol!

I've used Spooky's. You'd have to pay about 4 times that to get anything near as good from another brand.

What they said.

argueably...if you only had one knife...the M2K might be the one to have.

Probably the best pure cutter under 100.00. Or even maybe over 100.00.

Sweet blade. Mine was the *go to* blade for a few years. For the money, you will never find a better knife. Here's mine with it's on/scene tactical sheath and it's co-conspirater the Victorinox Trekker in German army issue green.

I'm real happy with mine.

Wasn't too happy after I dropped it on a rock though:mad:.

Bent the tip a little, but I got it fixed up. Now it's got a more centered point & I actually like it better this way:

Who owns this knife? What are your impressions? Discuss

They are an excellent knife for the money (I own three:D). Actually this is the knife my wife uses when we go camping/backpacking. It's pretty light, is an excellent slicer, will do light battoning; has a good belly for skinning and is a decent steel. My wife has used hers for everything! I actually got her a Kydex sheath, but she prefer's the stock one as she showed me it's easier to blow through the top of the sheath and out thru the two holes in the bottom when trying to coax hot coals into a fire.

I wish I could have all the money back I've spent on knives before discovering Moras. They're certainly not pretty, but they really cut. I've got more than a few, but the Mora 2000 is the knife that goes to the woods with me.

I like the Mora 2000.

If they made a version with a carbon steel blade, I think I'd arguably be set to life.

Probably not...at least in Moras though. :D

the m2k rides in my car w/ me all the time. once you find a "better" sheath than the original one it makes quite a nice set-up!

I love mine and it rides with me in my canoe amongst other places. It's got a great edge, grippy handle (which I don't mind the looks of), has arguably the best Mora sheath out there (which really isn't saying much), maintenance free steel, cheap even though it's almost three times as much as most of their offerings.

The grind is different but from looking at it and taking measurements I can see that the funky bevel toward the front is Mora's way of tapering the blade. Instead of being the same thickness through the entire length, it angles toward the point. The scandi grind is the same, it's just on thinner steel and doesn't show as much.
