Just took possession of a variety of Moras that I want to try out. Most of them are carbon steel, though I did pick up a couple of stainless blades. I plan to use them in a rotation for home kitchen duties and for outdoor excursions. After I've spent some time with each knife, I'll report back some impressions. In addition to the knives below, I also have a Miki on the way, and I'll add it to the rotation as well.
R to L with some initial impressions:
Took some individual pics that turned out pretty well and thought I'd share them...
Martiini 571. Very cool looking forged blade.
The popular 510.
Mora 511. Only one I've used so far. My son and I built a fire in the fire bowl tonight, and we used his knife to whittle a marshmallow stick. Lessons continued about safe knife handling. He is very proud of this knife and can't wait to take it camping.
Eriksson 711.
780 Craftsman Triflex.
840 Clipper.
Of the two stainless blades I bought, here's a hi-vis 760 I grabbed to put in a kayak dry bag.
And here's the Mora 6" fillet. I am a bit of a fillet knife junkie, and this one looks well made. Very flexible and has the great ergo grip that comes on the Clipper model. Look forward to using this one on some trout.
Finally, here's the oft-posted picture that shows the tang length of some of these blades.

R to L with some initial impressions:
- Eriksson 711 - Really beefy handle that fills the hand. With the non-slip grip and partial guard, this knife might do well at field dressing game.
- 840 Clipper - A really ergonomical handle. I wish this one had a tang that rivaled the 510 or even the 711. Very comfortable.
- 780 Craftsman Triflex - Another beefy handle that really fills the hand.
- Eriksson 511 - Bought for my son. The guard does add an element of security but makes it harder to change grip on this knife.
- Eriksson 510 - Nice and compact, but grip still fills my hand nicely.
- Martiini 571 - Very similar to the 510 but a slightly shorter puukko-style blade. Will have to use alongside the 510 to get a sense of difference.
