I think Moras are good knives - for the money. They are cheap and work pretty good for what they are designed for. I have several of them, mostly for gardening and in hiking backpacks because they are light. They don't come anywhere near my more high performance knives, but I don't expect them to.

I think they are a good value, but not the "be all end all" that so many others seem to think they are.

I'm curious as to what knife tasks a "high performance" knife tackles better than a Mora & why? (knife task meaning not hatchet, axe or prybar task).
Personally I think Scandi grinds lend themselves to woodworking & aren't the best grind for every situation but apart from that I find them excellent working knives, and a grind can be changed.

I'm not sure it's a matter of "be all end all" as it is just simply "as advertised".
I for one have come to really appreciate the simple things in life that just flat out deliver on what they promise at a price that's reasonable.

I guess it's because I've seen that sort of thing slip away during my 68 years here on Earth, to the point that it's now the exception to the rule - instead of the rule.
 
still cant decide whether it is necessary for me to buy garberg carbon ....not a cheap mora too...hands itchy

I've seen them overhyped to the point of nausea on this and other forums. They are good knives for the money, but certainly not the best knife out there for the woods or anything else. I like them for gardening knives, and backup since they are light.

Yup. They are good knives that punch above their weight, but I'm weary of folks who think they are the epitome of knife design and manufacture.
