More Bladeshop Business...

Dave I understand,
Usually thats the way it goes, I was just upset because I felt he was attacking us on the forum for no valid reason. And customer or not, when I feel that I will defend myself.
However, I have apologized to playwithknives and as I said earlier, I felt bad because I spoke in frustration, but very good point.

Once again, thanks to all for the feedback.

And for playwithknives I hope you enjoy the knife, benchmade makes good stuff.

Eddie, it really looks like you are trying to rectify the problems you have had in the past. I have been hard on you and will back off to see how you do in the future. In the end it will up to you to make sure that the posts about your company in the future will be positive.

My apologies for busting your b***s. I just don't take well to companies that don't treat their customers in a professional manner. It looks like you have made strides to improve things. Keep up the good work.

Wow, Let me start by stating how much having to answer this irritates me. This customer placed an order on 9/1, SATURDAY at 8:16pm. The order was processed today and shipped out, THE FIRST BUSINESS DAY SINCE THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. He just now, at 6 or 7 pm emailed and the reason we are not answering the phones is because WE ARE CLOSED!!!
This is rediculous. People need to learn patience. He could not have waiting until tomorrow to contact us, or wait for a response to his email??
The order is not on backorder, there are NO PROBLEMS WITH IT. As usual Keith will chime in instantly on an order HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT because he is mad at us for something that happened over 6 months ago.

SO PLEASE, EVERYONE, BEFORE YOU STATE WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE GET YOUR INFO STRAIGHT!

Well, my info is straight since I went through the endless backorder scenario and have been watching others go through it also. The above quote to a current customer is so far below what can be considered quality customer service it really should not justify a response. BTW, customers don’t need to learn anything since they can simply go elsewhere.

It's great to hear this fall will not be a repeat of last year and truly the best of luck with it. The additional resources should be trained and working now, if not it's probably too late. It also seems pretty late to be bringing in a programmer but you of course know your business best. The update that a current backorder log will be managed is good news, of course that should have been in place for some time (years) since the company is required to provide multiple back order notices to customers.

All in all, I’m not convinced, and when asked will encourage potential customers to look elsewhere. You should know (I expect you do) ex-customers have the longest memories and like elephants, the biggest trumpets. In all fairness however, I may enter another order personally just to see what happens during the “peak”.

the tracker says its here in seattle. should get it tomorrow. it would be UPS's fault now if the knife didnt reach me anyway, not eddie's.

but still my fingers are crossed so hard it hurts, haha.

Hello Ramm,
I completely understand where you are coming from and I also believe that if you have had a bad experience with us then you should advise others accordingly. I know that many times once a mistake is made with a customer, that customer is lost forever. But that doesnt mean I will stop trying to turn the tables.
So I welcome the challenge during the peak season beacsue I really feel we are ready :)

I've got to say I'm impressed with the Bladeshop's response here. They've owned up to past problems and seem to be trying to make it right. Good on them and good luck to them. Think I'll go check them out...

I know this is my second post but I've been visiting this site for awhile. I bought two knives from them, maybe 6 months ago, a folder and an auto, then later found out autos were not ok in my jurisdiction. The next day, before knives shipped luckily, I called them up explained the situation and asked to cancel that knife. No problems, my folder arrived quickly with no delay and in good condition. I just ordered two more knives from them, one for me and one for my girlfriend.

To thebladeshop .com,

Still waiting for my tracking number, and today you said it shipped 10/18.

On 10/18 you told me it shipped on 10/17, eitherway you blocked my email address and all I did was continue to ask what the hold up is, and demanding a tracking number for a month.

In 5 days it will be a month since my account was originally charged. You ignored 99% of my emails. I had to make a childish threat to get you to even respond to me, and you still haven't provided a tracking number still yet you said it was shipped. It can't be shipped to California via USPS, it's a federal crime, so it must be UPS shipped.

By the way I was told it would take a week to two weeks before I would get it from the original order date for all of those interested.

Also, to thebladeshop .com, you think these forums are not your business. Let me refer you to an automotive forum site. VWvortex.com, and a major tuner called EIP tuning, they went out of business by saying exactly what you have said about these forums not affecting your business. Basically the forums boycotted EIP and voila, officially going out of business. Be careful of how strong these advertising medias are.

Ok, here we go on this one. First, the knife the customer ordered was on backorder. On Oct 13th the customer sent following email:

"Obviously I can't by the 13th now. Either way I appreciate your customer service and honesty. I will gladly wait at this point.

Thanks again,
Rick"

Now, on Oct 16th, Customer sent this email:
"Order status?

If it is still unavailable, what about Pro-Tech Ciabatta PTC04?
If it's available I would like to change to the PTCO4.

Thanks,
Rick"

We responded on telling him the Ciabatta is in stock. On Oct 17th customer sent this email:

"I do want to change my order to the Pro-Tech Ciabatta PTC04. Let me know the time frame. This is going on three weeks out.

Thanks"

His order was changed, and his card was billed the $20 difference from the original knife and the Ciabatta he changed to. The knife shipped out on 10/18.

Customer said he sent an email asking for a tracking number last Friday, but unfortunately, our email was COMPLETLY down. Because of this, he also did not get a tracking number email, along with everyone else whos order shipped on 10/18.

Today we get the following email from the customer:

"I want my tracking number. I was charged an extra 20.00 dollars and have had no response. My father lives in TN, and the rest of my family as well, I will have them stop by and check in if needed. I am getting very upset with this, and I will take this further if I am ignored any further.

I will be posting on every knife/Gun forum about this situation, as well as posting your BBB record. If I don't get a response. You guys are trying to rip me off, and if that is the case you are going to have a couple hillbillies with some AR's knocking on your door.

Rick Burdette
555-555-5555"

Now as you can imagine, at the point where he threatens us with AR15s our relationship with this customer can no longer proceed. I did respond telling the cutomer when his order shipped and to never call or email us again.

If anyone here thinks we have done something wrong (espicailly to warrant a threat with a gun) please let me know.

This customer is a cry baby who thinks that making threats will get him somewhere in life. He is sorely mistaken. I will also turn his email over to our local authorities.

As for us saying these forums are not our business, I stated they are not all of our business. And mainly, I was talking about customers like yourself, who we can totally live without. If I did not care about these forums or the people who make up these forums, I wouldnt read them and respond to them.

This is your second post in a second thread on this same subject Rick, is there anything else you want to say? Because we have NOTHING to hide.

You guys are trying to rip me off, and if that is the case you are going to have a couple hillbillies with some AR's knocking on your door.

I would've blocked your email too. I was on your side until I saw that you were making death threats. That was just stupid.

Two more things.

The $20.00. If there was a $20.00 price difference between the knives, why are you shocked that you were charged an extra $20.00?

What did you order that is illegal to ship USPS? I assume an auto. Why would it be any more legal to ship it UPS?

Well, its illegal to ship autos across state lines in the "Mail", thats how the law reads so some people think it literally means postal mail and not other shipping methods. I dont know the true answer since its fine point in a law issue....who knows.

Good going Blade Shop, I think you did the right thing. I like the fact you are showing that you are turning over a new leaf.

I'll be sure to look at the site if I need a production knife.
