More fake cold steel knives on ebay

I have seen several fake cold steel knives on ebay and most recently discovered this seller who has had several including these trail masters http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150225734286

For those who purchase cold steel product's if you use ebay i hope you know how to tell them from the real deal... Cold steel said they were having problems with fakes being sold on ebay. Also the buyer of these knives also sells cold steel knives and this can be seen in his feedback so watch out as these may turn up again being sold for profit.

The seller was selling cold steel knives that cold steel never even made yet the knives said cold steel and the boxes said cold steel and after i sent the auctions to cold steel i received a reply saying they were fakes and that many knives sold on ebay were fakes and they were having some problems with all the fakes being sold on ebay... Anyway i didn't get a reply from cold steel on the trail masters before they sold but there are two clues letting us know they are fakes well three... clue number one... the seller was already selling fake cold steel knives. clue number two... They do not have carbon v on the blade... clue number three... The sheath is incorrect. Oh also the box appears to be a one piece box rather than two.
 
Karma is a bitch! FWIW I like many of the early CS designs and I do think the company is capable of producing a great knife they just need to throw that spandex clad ass bag overboard.
 
If you're gonna build fake knives,wouldn't you build fake Randalls or something worth more money?
 
That might make more sense, but there are in fact some fakes of very cheap knives on the market -- even cheaper than Cold Steel. There are people who rob convenience stores for the 30 bucks and change in the cash register, too....
 
I don't remember if the Trailmasters ever came in that style box, but Cold Steel did offer one piece boxes like this, and when Camillus was doing their OEM work the Carbon V stuff was made in the US. Not saying this is the case, but it could be a guy with what's called "New Old Stock" - ie, items that are still new in the box, but have sat on someone's shelves for a few years.

Chances are it's probably fake though.

All true but since the seller only had multiples of three designs by cold steel one was a pattern never even offered by cold steel and the other was fake ti-lites and the third pattern was these trail masters. Now it stands to reason that since the ti-lites were fake and the other pattern never offered that these trail masters in incorrect sheaths are also fake does it not?
