More funning around

I fooled around with Becker visuals a little more today. Here's some of what I came up with.

Okay, I did three more simple ones today. I would have done more, but I ran out of time.

Oh, by the way; I'm keeping them to simple black and white things for now, so we can get a better sense of the design without being overwhelmed by the color. I can always color them later, but for now, I'm thinking about what will be best for...well...whatever.

Just to keep track, I'm numbering them now.

Nice work. On the two middle ones, you should use a BK2 outline for the knife & tool part.

dawsonbob first and third are awesome Those just jump right out at you :thumbup:

Thanks, Doug. I'm still fooling around with them, so I'll probably come up with more.

I spent over thirty years in the advertising business writing copy and designing various things. Now that I'm kind of retired, I find that I miss is, so doing this kind of thing is therapeutic for me.:D

One logo junkie to another, those are pretty sweet.

Thanks, bro. As I just told Doug, "I spent over thirty years in the advertising business writing copy and designing various things. Now that I'm kind of retired, I find that I miss is, so doing this kind of thing is therapeutic for me".

I would imagine that I've done a couple thousand logos in my time. You'd think I'd be tired of it by now, but, well, it's something to do.

I could do that. I already drew the BK-2 for an earlier version. Maybe I'll try plugging it into one of these.

Thanks for the feedback, remmmm: it's always welcome.

You're pretty damn good at that. Quite an artist in our midst. I have no doubt you could put us a group logo together.

Thanks. It's how I made my living for over thirty years.

Oh, and yes I could; that's one of the reasons I'm playing with this stuff now.:D

where the one cleaving a heart? given the day and all? ;)

I like #1, but I would remove Beastly Blades and use that space for Knife & Tool. Nice work.

They look great  I agree with DP on the first and third, those two do stick out a little more

Hey, sqoon, the "Beastly Blades" — and other such nonsense — was just because I was playing.:D If we all agree on an actual design, then I could easily replace that with Knife & Tool.

Stay tuned.

Thanks!:grumpy:.....................................;):D
I can't even afford to pay attention right now and you along with Bushman5 got me hooked on the idea of getting ahold of a BK2. I hope a T-shirt will come with the new ones.:p:foot:

The good news is that the BK-2 is so reasonably priced that even we poor folks can afford one, and I'm proud to be one of the people who motivated you to get what I think is one of the finest "must have" knives around.

Did I mention that it's very reasonably priced, too? It's kinda "metal for the masses" — everybody should own at least one. Not everybody knows that yet, so BK-2 ownership is still a semi exclusive club.

The bad news is that there are no T-shirts to give out with new BK-2's...yet. So far the designs are just things that I've been playing with in my copious spare time.:D

Maybe I'll start actually devoting a little more time to designing something usable, rather than just fooling around.

Keep in mind that we don't even know if Ethan would want to do something like this. It's his line of knives that we're talking about (they do have his name on them, after all), so it would be pretty much up to him. Like I said, so far this has all been for my own amusement, and possible use here on the forum and for possible use on T-shirts.

Give me a little while to work on some more stuff, and we'll see how it goes.:D

Very Cool Bob. I have some illustration history myself and have played with logos for just about anybody I am a fanboy of on BF at the time. It's great creative excercise and the Becker line certainly looks worthy of your attentions.

Thanks, mymindisamob. Design and illustration can be fun, huh?

While I don't usually do logos until someone has put money in my account (hey, it's how I made my living), in this case I've been doing these just for fun, and because I am a Becker fan.:D It let's me keep my hand in, so to speak.

If you want to see some of what I've been doing all these years, you can go to http://www.dawsondoes.com/index.html. It's mostly older stuff on there now, and hasn't been updated in quite awhile (I'm semi retired, so I haven't updated). Major navigation is at the top, section navigation is lower in each section.

As someone once said, "advertising is about as much fun as you can have with your pants on." I think they were right, and I kind of miss it (not enough to go out and get a full time job at my age), so I'm playing with the Becker stuff. It let's me pretend that I still have something to do.;)
