Highly figured American Black Walnut from Missouri. Comes from the crotch of the tree. The mill culls out all boards with any burl, my brother gets 3 or 4 pickup loads a month for wood projects, knife handles and firewood. He only gets 4 or 5 of these blocks per truck load. He just brought me around 100 blocks and I pulled out the best which was only 53 blocks. I have 40 left to offer here. This is probably the best group yet, has a lot of color, kind of a redish/purplish tint to it. This is good stuff!

1"x2"x5" (most are a little over 1" thick) rough sawn and kiln dried.

4 blocks for $80 shipped All Sold Thanks!

My paypal address is; info@sunfishforge.com

First pic is sanded to 120 and wiped with sealer to show figure.

Thanks Nick, I'll send em right out.

Brett, they've been mixed back in with the rest, but I should be able to pick them out.
Just send $80 and I'll box em up. Thanks!

HaHa... :D Just josh'n Don :D

I keep hearing you and Russ talk about this famous Missoura' walnut... and figured we better get a little of it out here in the northwest! :D

THANKS for making this available Don!

is the misery black walnut really any different from the rest of the walnuts? whats the story behind them--is it the soil, the aura borialis, crotch rot---whats the folklore Don?--marekz

Thanks guys! Have 20 or so left.

Mark, Nick, the Missouri Black Walnut seems harder than other walnut. Must be to poor rocky soil here in the Ozarks. Trees grow very slow here, makes the wood more dense.

Mark, we don't want no rotten crotch
