Moroha Zukuri - Japanese dagger

That looks amazing Stuart and really makes me want to learn more about the construction techniques involved into making Japanese knives/swords.

Thanks for sharing.

PS: I would have liked to hear you describe the knife in the video. :(

This makes redundant the saying: "They don't make 'em like the used to."

Everything about this is stunning.

Thanks again. All the comments are very much appreciated.

Patrice, you should get this book. It's only about $30 in hardcover and is full of good information and amazing photos of the process.

Also I would recommend Walter Sorrells' video series. There's lots of tips and techniques for a modified "western" approach to making Japanese style blades and fittings.

Stuart, thanks for the recommendation. Got the book and it is as good as you say. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about Japanese swords.

Thanks Patrice, glad you like it. My copy is very well worn. I see tips and details in the photos every time I look at it.

very beautiful work on a challenging blade style, stuart! your eye for the proportion and subtlety of the traditional nihonto form is rare on this side of the pond, perhaps we should hang out sometime!

yoshihara~san has contributed much to learning the ways of nihonto for those of us from the west, have been thinking about picking up one of his books for a long time and your post about it put me over the edge...just got it in the mail today, looking forward to slowly digesting it soon!

keep up the amazing work, see you on the island!
