They're playing this song right now on the VH1 concert.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Willie Nelson singing ”Blue eyes crying in the rain” always gets me.

This is the only song that can make me cry. If you're from the Chicago are like I am, maybe you can understand why.

C'mon, your're not in the W&C. She doesn't write/play/sing my type of music, but she has plenty of songs that have nothing to do with a boyfriend. The one she won a grammy for this year is one, and the one just above you in this thread is another good example.

So? I find her breakup chants depressing. And she has to have one for every man she dates.

This one can really get me down.

To be fair, I've only actually heard 2 or 3 songs of hers (not by choice, I don't listen to this kind of crap), but all I heard was cookie-cutter song structures and repetitiveness, inane manipulative lyrics, and heavily processed vocals. Aretha, Frank, Freddie, Otis, and Roy didn't need autotune. Technology will never trump talent.

The state of "pop" music these days and the fact that millions of fools think it's good depresses me.

I just saw this thread and instantly thought of a song, then another...and saw that 555 already put them up. Terry Jacks: Seasons in the Sun and Gilbert O'Sullivan: Alone Again.

Would also like to add to the list Everything I Own and Diary by Bread

I find O Canada, our national anthem, depressing. It sounds as if it was composed by a committee, which it was. It is dull, drab, and unworthy of this great country.

Alan Parsons; song 'Turn it up'. When I feel blue I like to play that one loud

This song was written by Hoyt Axton. I think Steppenwolf did a good job.
