Charlie Mike, what's the second folder you've got in that first post? I swear, I've seen it before, but can't remember the name for the life of me!

Warren Thomas T-Rex

Bedlam, Contego, Onslaught, Szabo, super and Uber Emersons, large Cold Steels , karambits, gnarly recurves and my 561. There are more no doubt.

It's not the size of the knife...it's how naked you are as you run at people laughing that makes the knife intimidating. ;)
(seriously, I'd run REALLY fast the opposite direction from someone doing that)

Thanks.

I saw a very large Chinese switchblade for sale on some self defense site earlier. Listed as having a 14 inch blade, it'd easily scare the sheeple. Even if it does stick halfway out of your pocket and breaks after 15 times opening it. XD

Most intimidating EDC Folder?

Easy. The folding stock on my AR-10-4A. Peeps get real nervous when I bring it to the mall or movies...

I always thought the DDR-HTM Madd Maxx 5.5 with it's 5.5" stilleto blade was intimidating, as is the the Ontario Retribution I.

I think you meant "Dork Ops"

To me "Intimidating EDC" is an oxymoron...I cut objects with my knife, not intimidate people with it. But I'll play anyway!

I'd have to go with the DarkOps Stratofighter Covert Tanto.

1) It's got plenty of writing on the blade, and that always scares people. Though a skull might be nice somewhere....I guess one could always put a skull bead on a lanyard.

2) The name! It makes people run away like little girls. It got "Ops", "Fighter", AND "Covert" in it. If they threw "X-Treme" in the name somewhere, people would soil their pants.

3) Hello! Its a tanto.

4) It emits toxic green vapor and it's blade glows blood red!

5) 2 blood grooves!!!

6) It even intimidates a potential buyer! Dark Ops says "... built to the durability requirements of full-on, Spec-Ops combat! If you need a utility folder, this is not the knife for you." You not a high speed spec ops killing machine?!? Then don't even think of buying it, you pansy!

It's the total intimidation package for the incredibly select user who is awesomely terrifying enough to carry it.

One of my favorites aside from the Cold Steel Ti Lite is the Beretta Avenger a Warren Thomas/Beretta collaboration.

The point is the most intimidating knife is one you don't know is being used until its too late to do anything about it. so,I think a serrated civilian. The big cold steels are awesome, but you know the person has it a mile away (unless its in the waist band, and then you would know they were getting it out two weeks before they have it open) A civilian is discreet and can be out quick. And honestly, if you have (or actually carry with confidence to use, rather than just having one in your collection) a civilian you are not kidding around.

On another note, I think most petty criminals find any knife intimidating because they don't expect it and want an easy time of it. My Native has diffused more than one sticky situation without ever being used (aka intimidation).

I cant believe the crkt hissastu hasnt been posted yet, It holds a special place close to my heart. I loved carrying that thing. My taste in blades has changed but its still gorgeous to me. People freak when they see it after they hear it open.

-The most intimidating folder that I own is my Cold Steel Voyager XL w/clip blade. It's a beast, yet I find it surprisingly comfortable to carry.

Ive received some strange looks after whipping out my MILITARY at restaurants to cut some food with... probably the tacticool digicam that scares them though

The Italian stilettos, but that's because people have been taught that they are inherently EVIL!

Sometimes it's just fun to piss off people that think a pocket knive is meant for stabbing.

Don't be daft.

People think this about some knives because they aren't stupid. There are plenty of knives out there that are designed specifically for stabbing, slashing and other martial/tactical uses. Just go to about any major manufacturer's site and search for "tactical"

Knives may be tools in some contexts but they are very definitely weapons in others. More to the point, some knives are specially designed to be used as working tools and others more designed for fighting. People get this because its true and it's been true for as long as knives have been around.

People have every right to be pissed off by stupid knife morons who like to whip out tactically designed knives and while saying, "Look, it's only a tool."

If you want to carry a tool knife, get a Sodbuster, use it to cut things and quit going out of your way to piss people off.

Seriously, it's attitudes like this that just invite greater regulation and enforcement of anti-knife laws.
