Most recent CS purchase and why?

I picked up an orange Broken Skull this week. I wanted an orange knife for October and that made for a perfect excuse. What an excellent folder! :thumbup:

I got both the 18'' and 21'' slant tip machetes. No specific reason beyond the fact that I just like to collect good, useable machetes(so none of those "440 stainless" no name brands), and that's what Cold Steel makes. And while I very much love Condor, the 2 slant tips together cost me less than one Condor would.

Also, they both came sharp(not razor sharp, but definitely sharp), which was nice, the last CS machetes I got were dull.

I'll try to get some pics outdoors later today. Feeling a bit guilty about spending too much on knives lately, I have only taken them out of the box to inspect, and they are both fantastic. I love the blue G10 CS uses.

I've found serrated blades to be good bug attractors.

Much more than Plain edges...

You'd have to have the smooth rap, as a guy I used work with used say, to get a snail to fly up and land on your knife.

Well I saw some squash bugs on the deck so I took my Cold Steel Super Edge out and commenced to "Whispering".

I tried two bugs. I got the same general response from both or them; something along the lines of "Get off short stick" or "Clear off . . . " or something " ______ OFF". My translating is sketchy at best.



I don't have the gift.

I received an SRK in 3V. Found a deal on the group buy site and couldn't resist. So far I'm really impressed, especially the handles.

Yeah man, Big Brown dropped off a San Mai SRK to me today too! Snagged it for $101 on Amazon, seemed like a good deal to me!

The OD green Hold Out II popped up on Blade HQ as "in stock" so I had to grab one. I hope it's for real, as these seem to be sold out everywhere. Also
threw a tanto machete in the cart to get me up to free shipping.

My most recent purchases are black talon 2 and 1917 Bowie.

Why I got the black talon 2? Slim, light and compact, vicious blade shape and cutting geometry and its bad-ass looking.

I bought the 1917 Bowie mainly for the looks. Its an awesome looking classic big Bowie.

Got a tan recon1 spear point to match one of my pistols and rilfes, picked up a Lucky as a gift for a friend. Oh and a hold out 3 for my daughter.

You re making me interested in a Recon 1. The American Lawman is one of my favorite edc s. Have recently discovered my new Holdout 2 to be a great carry blade for a large knife. Will look again at a Recon 1 spearpoint.

just delivered, 3x La Fontaine throwers.... gonna add handles to them and make sheaths and give em to my buddies at work for Christmas this year.... the design just screams to be made into a useable fixed blade knife, hell it comes pre drilled for scale rivets....

They are surprisingly well made blade blanks for 15.00 each....they'll make great camp knives.
