I guess since now I have 3 of these and want to stash a few more, this is my go to MT right now! at first I did not like it but it grew on me and now it is the one for me.

I change my pick to the Toolzall for work and EDC. For fishing and outdoor play the Surge.

I've had just about every Gerber except for the newest offerings and the only one I still have it the one that people know the least, the Military Tool. Looks like an original Leatherman, about the same size, they didn't sell that well and got dropped quickly. It's made in the USA and I've had it for 11 years. Mostly sits in the drawer now, but I can't part with it. After breaking a few Gerber's (all offshore manufacture) I gave up on them.

Had a SOG Paratool too. It was neat enough and I never had any problems with it. Can't remember why I got rid of it.

I have a Buck Extract in my hunting pack. Neat and simple, with the best knife blade out of the bunch. I think the pliers are close to useless. I do like the sliding screwdriver though.

I have a Kobalt multi tool from Lowe's in the glove box of my work truck. I bought it in a moment of panic when I thought I lost my Leatherman. Not bad for the money really. I could use it with no problem if it was all I had. I think it's better than the Gerber's I've had.

I've had several Leatherman's and I think that they are the best I've used. I've had the original, the Super, a Wave, and currently have the Skeletool. It's not the biggest, or the most versatile, but I can just clip it to my pocket and go. Hate the 420 steel in the knife blade, but the store didn't have any of the 154cpm ones and I was in dire need. I'd just broken another Gerber, LOL.

I'd like to try the Swiss Tool, but I think it's a bit big for me.

I got my first Leatherman when I was 17. I'm 34 now. I have not gone ONE single day since then without a multi-tool of some kind on my person. My buddies used to rag on me a bit about always carrying one. But after getting them (and myself) out of various situations only because I had the tool, within a couple of years, they were true devotees as well.

I've been abusing my USA Gerber 400 for 11 years and it hasn't failed me yet. Saved my butt a time or two. Other than superficial surface wear the only damage I've been able to do is break the tip of the fine flathead screwdriver. Couple minutes with a file and now I have an awl on my MT. Works well too.

I distinguish between MTs and SAKs. My most trusted SAK is the Rucksack although now retired.

I have a new style LM wave that I have modded with charge parts, 154 main blade, cap crimper pliers and hooked serrated blade. Its became my go to tool. Its funny it started as a parts donor for a charge xti. Then I started using it more than the charge.

Really a nice tool. If you love your Swisstool, you will likely be smitten by the Spirit. :D

You we're right...I am in love with the swisstool spirit! Dang...It, with the vic rally that came with it, and a folder, and I am set. The spirit is awesome. I have no need for the original now. The spirit fits in my watch pockets too.

I have used everything from SOG to Leatherman to Swisstool Spirit. I don't abuse any of them like some of you guys who actually work for a living :D, so any of mine would last a lifetime and beyond.

My most used - though not technically a multitool in my book - is the Victorinox Spirit Plus. Plenty of useful tools, but small enough that it actually gets carried. Its been in my pocket for a few years now.

I have tried pretty much every multitool ever made. I'm an electrical contractor so on the job I use alot of hand tools for my work and use multi tools occasionally but during off hours I use multi tools constantly.

Best so far:

All around - Leatherman Charge TI (pre TTI)

Heavy duty - Leatherman Supertool 300

Light duty - Leatherman Juice S2

Started out with an old Gerber Multi-tool then a Vic SwissChamp ( I needed a saw)> but then went to Vic Rucksak which I love for fieldwork.

Urban multi-tool: Leatherman Wave (when weight is not an issue) but may switch to the Juice

I've used my original Super Tool since '94, carried a Juice P4 since last Christmas, and ordered a Super Tool 300 yesterday to retire my old Super Tool. The Super Tool is an awesome multi-tool IMO, and the new 300 should be even better with its replaceable wire cutter jaws. It has all the features I want, and none of the extras I won't use (like scissors). The only complaints I've read about the new 300 is the weight. That won't bother me at all.

LM Pulse, which is nearly 9-8 years old. I am not sure when I bought it. It was way back before I was in military. I bought it in High School. However my New Vic Spirit X is superior in every aspect.

Just got my first ever. I went with the stainless SOG EOD. So far in this past month it has served me well.

My original Leatherman PST. My dad gave it to me in the late 80's and it's still going strong, though the leather sheath is about worn out. Next would be my Wave. I've had that for 6 years and it's holding up well to everyday use.:thumbup:

Leatherman Supertool (old version) 10+ yrs. Heavy, pliers awkward, not kind to hands but a tank that does everything I need & looks new after a bath.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I've been carrying my Super Tool for a long, long, time (better than 15-years). As you said, it can be hard on the hands but that's soon forgottern when the jobs done.

SOG model in black oxide that was issued to me. I have had it 10 plus years without issue. I keep saying I am going to replace it but I never do. It works great and is reasonably comfortable on the hands.

Mine says "Shrade Tough" no other identification. It doesn't see much use but I like having it there when I do need it. It's done all I've asked of it.
