Most Underrated Busse?

I'd say the steel heart ergo with its asymmetrical edge. It's a great knife but gets very little attention.

...............+1!
The SAR-5 is in my opinion the best Busse ever made. Why it was thrown under the bus, I'll never know.

Probably because it lacks the wonderful ergonomics virtually all other Busse designs possess. And in my opinion it's those disappointing ergos that killed the bussmuk.

I own one, the designs is very good, but for that price the miss the balance on the SAR5 big time!

The SAR5 reminds me of a Mauser Broom Handle pistol. :foot: :o
My apologies to Jerry Busse because this is one of the very few topics he'd
prefer we leave alone.

Sar 5. That was/is a great all around knife. I had mine pimped out and really miss it. Great knife right there. It got tons of bad press from Jerry but I think the majority of the people who owned one loved it, I know I did!

The NARK

This was one of my first purchases and the one I use more often than any other besides the Puzzle Heart. It is almost the same size as the BATAC but much thinner stock (0.15" vice 0.27") to make it a better slicer. And the band cutter is astonishingly sharp.

They are comparatively few and far between but I think this is an undersung wonder.

I think the BAD is the handiest Busse I have, followed by the Culti. I don't know if I'd call either of them the "most underrated," but they sure don't get the attention the bigger blades get....

A few have mentioned the SAR5. Despite the negatives I had read in the past, I was really trying to like mine, thinking it might just be the most underrated. But the clunky handle kind of turned me off. The real buzz killer was the first time I got cut by the back of the blade at the choil. After the second time, I dulled the last 1/32" or 1/16" of the edge back there. I now believe the knife might be overrated, if anything. ;)

I really need to pick up a Boss Street.

Stay sharp,

The spec's on the NARK sound great ..... but my guess is that so few of them are around that the knife is limited by the publicity the owners can give it ..... love the blade design but would prefer the grips on your custom Badger

Love the Novak too ... they did my Sig P210 ... even in Switzerland it gets rave reviews ... Novak has to be one of the best custom shops out there :cool:

SAR5 for sure and although I don't think they will ever me made again, that is one Busse I would buy multiples of.

The BM E has got to be one. The original slabs were horrible. It does not take much chopping before you are in agony. Cleaned up, rehandled, and put in a good shealth - it's a whole different animal. The 1.75 blade height strikes a nice balance to length ratio, and make it fairly lithe for it's OAL.

Paul's Hatchet, it is a great little camping/kitchen tool. You could drive tent stakes to firestarting to cutting up food. Very sheeple friendly.:D
