Most underrated modern folder

I probably don't have a bone to pick in this fight, but with the constant debate of production vs custom, USA vs foreign made, and the price point... My vote is any rockstead. There are so many haters on so many levels with these knives they don't take the time to realize at the base of what they're handling (a knife) it might damn we'll be the best one out there.

COAST F350. I think that is what it is called. 9CR steel and is superbly made and the 9CR steel is very very good. keepem sharp

PS about 30 bucks shipped. Look on youtube for reviews.

.........The BUCK110 is probably #1 in my mind though. I grew up with one on my belt and it definitely was the gold standard back then for all hunters. Everyone either had one or was getting one. Just feels good in the hand, the heft, the looks, all make it one of the best knives ever.

I was thinking that very thing this morning.

I noticed in a recent thread here the 110 had virtually no major criticism out of about 50 posts. Never seen that happen with a knife here. I think it may be the folder of all time and no one can admit it. I sure like mine.

I suggest the Spyderco Tenacious. It is a good design, well made, reasonably good blade steel, full liners, G10 scales.

A little up the scale I will suggest the Manix 2. It is a very good knife but doesn't get the love of other Spyderco knives.

Dont see much love for the Leek around either. It was my first REAL knife and still keep one around because of the fact.

I might get scoffed at, but I really love my Gerber gator. I'm pretty disenchanted with Gerber lately, but this knife has served me well when hiking, camping and canoeing. I have better, but for the price I paid, I'm pretty happy.

I was helping my father in law clean his truck, for sale yesterday and we came across a Gerber Gator I gave him back around 1998 or so. It was a Portland, Oregon made in the USA knife. It's a shame now that thier stuff is China made and.... well we all know what I mean.

Ontario Utilitac II. When I ordered mine, I wasn't at all expecting to get that much knife for $25.

Gators are one of the Gerbers still made in the USA. I have one in 154cm that's pretty respectable.

I would throw out the Cold Steel Tuff Lite as a contender. It's a compact, comfortable wharncliffe that manages to hang in my work rotation alongside knives several times its price. The wharncliffe and AUS-8 steel also means it takes a matter of seconds to resharpen. Also, unlike most Cold Steel knives, it doesn't scream "weapon" when you pull it out.
