Most used shop tool!!

Grumpy grinder would be happy grinder if I moved to labadore city cause we'd be making knives together!!

I'm a plumber, I'd say my most used tool is knipex pliers along with a crecent wrench. Always have a couple of knives on me too:cool:

Glad to see Fred here I ordered one of his bubble jigs and it's a must have for any knife shop for sure!!

Most used, I'd have to say my vise, then my grinder and then the drill press. I see that yours would be your keyboard.

Grumpy grinder still never replied ??? My little bandsaw gets a lot of use also ..

Thats right! Was hoping to get some top secret info out of you guys tonight but it didn't work, gotta work in the morning so see y'all boys later!! Have a good night and PLEASE post your most used KNIFE shop tool here!!

i use a file the most I guess along with sharpie. Being a hobby I don't know if I can bring myself to grind a knife on a belt grinder. I love the novelty of having an all hand made knife. I say that now but once i'm filing i'm cursing and wishing on a grinder every file stroke.

I hand filed my first knives until I sold enough to buy my Coote Machine. www.cootebeltgrinder.com That was 18 plus years ago and I have made that machine portable For Sharpening and remote knife making. :)
I have a Hardcore Products 2 x 72 in the shop.

I guess my favorite tool is my Rhino Finger Skins, cause they keep my fingers working & comfortable. I don't have that roasted spot in the middle of my thumbs from flat grinding anymore and the nicks and cuts on my index fingers..

Ease off the drinks there big boy! I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the ol' 2x72 is the most used tool in most knife shops.

Was hoping everyone would say disc grinder but I think only one person mentioned that! Was contemplating about building one or another belt grinder ??

2x72 grinder is definitely on the top of the list, followed probably by my knee mill. Then of course there are the basic tools that get used on most everything else as well: Scribes, center punches, bandsaw, etc...
