most versatile khukuri?

Storyville:

The Hanuman handled 18" OAL WWII bladed khuk is the one most likely to get the diamond ring. But it's too pretty to take out and use. I have a 16" WWII, and it feels pretty darn good, but not up to Han/WWII. Never had an 18" WWII.

For fooling around with, there's the blondes, brunettes, redheads... ( 12" Sirupati, the Kumar Special, The 20" Chainpuri, the 800 lb Salyan, the next one Bill puts up a picture of...

On reflecting, as I've grown older, I've grown more appreciative of the incredible luck I've had in finding the wife I did.

This does not keep me from being appreciative also of the interesting and pretty girls I see. One can enjoy the beauty of flowers in another's garden without touching or picking them. But no matter how lovely a face or figure, one whose character and personality ( spirit? ) is vapid or coarse or shallow makes me immediately lose interest in her.

There's a point and an edge to this commentary too. HI Khukuris and Villagers have personalities. They each have or come to have a spirit of their own. A rail common, a factory arun made knife churned out quickly to make profit seldom shows a spirit, seldom takes on a personality from it's maker kami.

Pala, this is why I don't buy from your competitor(s) if you have any. Their knives are at the best just tools. Pieces of wood and metal. They do not teach me as your khukuris teach me how to use them.

I guess this means I'm gullible and superstitious by some people. So What?

Ah, fill the Cup:---what boots it to repeat
How Time is slipping underneath our Feet:
Unborn TO-MORROW, and dead YESTERDAY,
Why fret about them if TO-DAY be sweet!
...
And when Thyself with shining Foot shall pass
Among the Guests Star-scatter'd on the Grass,
And in thy joyous Errand reach the Spot
Where I made one---turn down an empty Glass!

Hey storyville: check out the "3 blems" thread. A 20" sirupati is heavy. A 15" is light as a feather. If you can, get the 15" Sirupati blem right now, at $60 including shipping. Minus $10 for shipping, $50 bucks. You ain't gonna find a better deal, and if the long light khuk you dreamed of does come in before you head off to the wilds, I'm fairly sure Bill will hold it for you while you scratch up the cash but check with him about that.

That one is gone, Rusty, but thanks for good steerage. I'll be posing a few more blems later today or tomorrow. I had a year's supply of them I'd been saving to show Pala so he could review them and make proper adjustments back at the shop.

Wow, more poetry, plus deep thoughts from Rusty. Is that the medication Uncle Bill always refers to, or lack thereof, at work? Just kidding -- I much enjoy your thoughts, and advice!

Thanks for the pointer, Rusty -- but I was already a step ahead of you! I’m the early bird who picked up the 15” blem Sirupati.

Just purchased my first khukuri at the start of this month, a 15” AK. Now the 15” Sirupati. And you’re advising me to go for another?! Whoa, I’m feeling a little woozy -- is that last night’s whiskey, or am I suffering from that terrible affliction, HIKV...!?

(Maybe we should open up a Rubaiyat thread... or forum!?)
