Motorbike road trips, traditional pocket knives, history and culture.

Wild is the wind.

Yesterday, warm when the Sun was out then chilly when cloudy.🫣

Went to Hungrrford on the twisty roads.

In the massive antique centre I found some great knives including a fantastic selection of Pukkos.

Still not sure why all I bought was a TL29, probably because I was being sensible for once. šŸ˜‚

Bought a meal deal, sandwich, fruit and orange juice then sat down by the war memorial.

I like to keep my old muckers company even if I don’t know them personally.

Riding back another scenic route through the Valley of the racehorses.

It got confusing first there’s signs saying slow down horses then there’s signs say ā€œRace horsesā€,look mate I ride I don’t race anyone or anything. 🤣🤣🤣

Then I saw another sign saying ā€œdrive slow childrenā€what kinda of Hicksville place lets there kids drive around at any speed?šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Again make sure you ride through the correct valley or anything could happen. šŸ˜‰

I forgot to mention I also saw an owl hunting by the roadside a fantastic sight they furiously beat there wings not moving an inch they use radar not sight to track pre,by the time I stopped all I got was Red kite.

I haven't seen any posts by Johnnythefox in quite a while. Does anyone know if he's ok?

Just returned from a Harley tour - UK > France Belgium Germany Switzerland Italy, back into France for a few days St Tropez - back to UK.

My body thermostat, the band of acceptance, has shrunk. Used to love the heat, all a bit too much now……….sitting atop a 2 litre engine in full face helmet, leathers - all at 38degC. Nah, no fun at my age.!

Anyway, mustn’t moan - a brilliant trip. 2750 miles of hard fast riding err, steady progress, officer………back home safe n sound.

A visit to Thiers on the way back, naturellment monsieur.!

A few pics…

I never had the money for a Harley in my youth. I rode Hondas and had a great Suzuki 850 for several years.

When I got close to retirement, I discovered the KLR guys and thought I’d get one and ride it to Alaska. They pile those things up and go all over the world.

Turns out I was too short, and had probably gotten too old for all that.

You all have some mighty fine machines.
