Alright FINALLY here's my review! Sorry most of the pics turned out blurry.
My first reaction when I opened this knife from the mail, and held it for the 1st time (in the USPS parking lot since I was so excited) was that it is a solid and very well built knife. All the grinds were perfect and the handle just seemed to melt into my hand. It was pretty well balanced with the balance point around my pointer finger.
Here are just a few comparison shots with my other fixed blades. RAT RC-4, Mora 2010, DPKnives Woodman w/ leopard wood scales. Unfortunately I don't have any detailed specs, but I reckon Doug could post those if need be.
Here's a spine shot. The RC-4 is 3/16 (.187) thick for reference. I really liked the spine filing on the Mountaineer as it gave it a really great look. Note that there isn't any thumb jimping...normally I like a bit of jimping for texture, but the handle was solid enough that I didn't really feel for extra grip. As I said before, the handle was very comfortable for my large hands.
Just a quick shot showing blade lengths.
The sheath was really nice and fit the knife very securely. It had a belt loop on the backside big enough to fit most belts. The bottom sheath was made by Ilbruche.
This pic shows the concealex? sheath that he made for my Woodsman. Also very well made and fits securely.
Alright now's where the fun really begins! Unfortunately the weather was bad so I wasn't able to go outside. I took these shots in the garage and was careful not to hit any concrete while batoning!
The wood was pretty well seasoned and some of it was a bit tough to get through. The knife itself performed very well and took a lot of abuse.
At the end of splitting a few logs, I made some fuzzies and this knife performed excellently! It was still very sharp and the even though its a long blade, i was able to maintain lots of control by using two hands. This shot also shows the great finish he put on the blade.
Finally I cut up some a cantelope and it cut with amazing ease. The big blade and added weight really helped slice through it but again control was never lost.

All and all it was an excellent knife and I really wish I got to spend some more time with it! I never got any hotspots from using it and couldn't find any flaws. Thanks again Doug for a great knife and letting us have a passaround!
