I got out to use the DP quite a bit yesterday. It was smaller than I anticipated, but was still quite handy. It is a good size for an all-around type blade. It is a pretty well-rounded tool, the size/weight allows lends it to a wide range of uses. Light chopping, batoning, carving and notching were all well within the realm of this knife's range of tasks.

In summation, I think the design is well-thought-out and useful. I would, however, change a couple of things. I think a more pronounced flair at the butt would be useful, because to get optimal chopping power out of the knife, you really need to hold it at the end of the handle (like chopping with a leuku). Second thing would be to add a lanyard hole/tube somewhere to the knife. I think it you extended the tang a little beyond the handle, you could put the lanyard hole there and you wouldn't have to change the pin arrangment any. other than those two things, and a few small fit and finish problems, I think it is good to go. Also, when I took the knife out of the package, the tip had cut through some of the stiching on the sheath. I'll go ahead and re-stitch that part for the next guy. It's not an issue, I just figured I would make everyone aware.
Doug, I hope this was helpful to you, thanks for the oppertunity to use the knife.
