Just found this thread. Should help me get my cardio up for basic come Feb.

1600m swim last night. Actually used fins for 2/3 of it; first time in a couple years that I've used them

13.5+6=19.5

Not easily quantifiable, but I skated yesterday for 1 1/2 hours. Worked up a sweat, even, despite temps in the 30's. I'm awarding myself 1 point per 15 minutes.

6+19.5=25.5

2 more miles this morning. 9 BP.

10 more since the 6th. 19 BP.

Skating like quads or blades, or skating with a skateboard?

Skating as in Hans Brinker....on sharpened steel. It is BLADE forums, after all.

Oh! Of course! haha, nice! I'm jealous, there is a guy that comes to the roller rink where I go who practices his ice skating moves on some rollerblades like this:

He's got mad skills. I'm thinking about maybe getting skates like that in the distant future.

Anywho, here's the measurable butt-moving I've been up to:
Walking
12/17 - 1.3 miles
12/18 - 1.8 miles
total: 43.3

I gotta get back to running again! Went rollerblading at the largest skating rink on the west coast in Portland Wednesday though, that was sweet!

I'm going to be getting in on the January one, as I'm getting a new tracking thingamajigabobber before the first. So far I have been doing a mixture of exercising and bringing my lunch (salad in a bottle) and in two weeks I'm down 6 pounds. My exercise has consisted of parking in the last spot in the lot at jobs, and taking a walk for 30 minutes a day while at the office. So far it hasn't been measurable but it WILL be. Oh and taking stairs instead of elevators when applicable (basically when less than 10 flights).

Yay! One of us!

I may be joining this soon as well. Since that corporation bought out the place I work, a "wellness" feature is included in the insurance. What it is, is they give you a monitor, and it measures the steps you walk every day. You plug the monitor into the pc once every two weeks. The more you walk, the better the benefits are on the insurance. Pretty cool idea really.

You should still join us no matter what happens at work. We aren't motivational experts, but we sure don't try, either ;). Plus, it's like all the "attaboys" (or attagirls) you can handle.
