I'm sure some here probably already know of this but, I just thought I would post it here for those that may not be aware. And hopefully, as it appears to be severely lacking in information. I was hoping that perhaps some of the more knowledgeable and kind souls w/ spare time on their hands here at BF might take the time to contribute information to it and expand upon it's offerings. :)

Here is link...http://imkdb.wikia.com/wiki/IMKDB_Wiki

I found that place a couple weeks ago when looking for a movie knife but was underwhelmed for the lack of info and movie knives found there...:(

What knife did Anthony Hopkins carry in the 1997 film, The Edge?

Bravo, gentlemen. That was awesome. Gave me a good chuckle at my desk here. As for the database site, cool idea in theory. However I'm not sure there is quite the support for it. I know IMFDB has a ton of support and is great for seeing what firearms are in what movie. I just don't think knives (as much as I would want them to be) are as popular and as in demand to be known as firearms.

I remember watching Hannibal (Silence of the Lambs 2, or whatever it's called) earlier this year, noticing Anthony Hopkins had a Spyderco. The internet told me it was a rare G10 Harpy Plain Edge. I decided it's the only hawkbill I'll ever buy if I find it.

And justification. Who needs it? You got any question about knives? Just ask it here. Watch..

it never ceases to amaze me how do you manage to crap on all newcomers' threads, criticise and bash all opinions or sincere, honest questions, destroy and attack everyone's reputation and opinion whenever it minimally deviates from your line of thought, or just plain say your shit regardless of sensibilities and try to scare, ridiculise, offend or harm all members here with good intentions. Congrats on that

As for the justification, you probably know there's a quite big and important movie database wenbsite (http://www.imdb.com/) and a version of it dedicated exclusively to guns, very complete and interesting for the hobbyists (http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Main_Page) , so it is logical to think that sooner or later someone would want to follow the trend and create an Internet Movie Knife Database.

Now, nobody asks for your collaboration in this project, but if you don't have nothing useful to say or anything to contribute to it just dont' post and crap on people's projects, ideas and intentions.
You must really hate everything, everyone, everywhere at everytime, mate :poop:

At what point did I attack the OP's reputation? I stated that I didn't see the necessity of the site he listed. Opposing viewpoints are what a discussion forum is all about. If you feel each of us stating our opinions on the value of BF and its members in comparison to other sites is tantamount to "ridiculising" (I beleive the word is "ridiculing," btw), than I really don't know what to say.

Someone beat them to it! Bladeforums did. Maybe you are underestimating the breadth and depth of knowledge here. See my example above.

Oh WOW, I didn't know we had a movie knife DB here, can you please point me to it ASAP so I can waste some work time looking at the various knives in movies since I am bored.

Ha, if that's sarcasm that's rich stuff!

If it's not, he was not saying we literally have a database, just all the members collective knowledge. An actual database, while probably not in high demand enough to exist, would be fun to peruse. I could totally see myself using it, but I imagine not enough others would to warrant its maintaining.

It was sarcasm, just trying to imagine thousands of people coming here to post a question about a knife in a movie and getting hammered for not searching, asking stupids questions, etc. v. having a legit DB for knives used in movies.

We sure do! Its called your fellow members! Ask away!

Or you can use the search feature here. No doubt every knife in every movie ever has been discussed at some point or another.

BF is a knife data juggernaut. Seems some newer folks are unaware of that.

Or you can try the "severely lacking in information" site mentioned above. Nobody's stopping you. Enjoy!

People ask those kind of questions here all the time. I did in this thread! I did not get hammered, quite the opposite, I got an answer AND pictures in minutes!

Like I said, if you think some other database is more powerful or user friendly than us, then good for you. I feel the opposite is true.

Anthony Hopkins carries 6 Cold Steel broken skull knives concealed about his body. Although you may not see them in the films rest assured they are there just in case. He's well known for whipping them out with an authoritative snick at the catering truck to cut sausages, play mumbly peg or fend of attacking wild animals. During an attack he normally dual wields; but has gone to the rare quad-wield in the event of many chipmunks swarming the best boy during the filming of Go With Me. That film was mostly about batoning in rural Oregon and how chainsaws had displaced traditional woodsmen who would knock down a redwood or sequoia with just a Buck 110 or Spyderco Salt. I give it nine thumbs up because I like knives.
