Not sure if this fits your list...

Ichiro Hattori

Black Rain (1989) - Cold Steel Magnum Tanto

Terminator 2 Judgement Day (1991) - SOG S1 Bowie

Are you asking about knives made for movies, or knives used in movies? If the latter, the Korean movie "The Man From Nowhere" has a wonderful fight scene with main guy using IIRC, a Kershaw S30V Blur against an assassin wielding a Cold Steel Steel Tiger karambit. Couple characters in The Expendables also used Cold Steel Espadas

One of the Inglorious Bastards knives, while made by a props person, was based on a WWII Messenger knuckle knife and probably a Scubapro "The One" knife -

Al Mar knives was the cutlery provider for much of the movie Cyborg.

A Sog Desert Dagger is the main knife used in the "Kill Bill" scene with Vivica Fox and the Bride.

Al Mar's and Ek's are seen all through the movie "Sniper" with Tom Berenger.

Barnes's knife in Platoon was a Cold Steel Terminator.

Joe Kious made the subhilt in Exposure.

Jack Crain also did the big bowie the pimp/gangster uses in Action Jackson -

Randall W King made the ivory kris style dagger from "The Crow", and also some of the other knives used in "The Last of The Mohicans". A lot of Sog knives in that one too (The Crow).

Knives made for movies are of course the ones that become Iconic... However knives featured in movies can also make an impact, and become very well known! It's nice to list the ones, that have made a good screen appearance, and been used by the main characters and not merely seen in the background.

Jimmy Lile's First Blood III knife was not used, but would have made a superb movie knife!

So are we including just knives, like you say, "..that have made a good screen appearance, and been used by the main characters and not merely seen in the background." or are we including knives that would have been cool in a movie but weren't?

No Spydercos mentioned. I believe there was a Harpy in Silence of The Lambs, and a Police in The Client.

Jennifer 8, and Hard Target (Police model used by second in charge bad guy) both had Spydercos too.

Sheesh man, you love to argue. The knife was designed and made for the movie by Lile, at Stallone's request, and even made it to Stallone for appoval. Then for whatever reasons, they went a different direction. So it was definitely not just some random knife that "could have been" in a movie but wasn't, it was made expressly for that purpose by the man who had done 2 consecutive movie knives for the same franchise. Clearly it is not a "movie knife" in the sense that it was featured in the film, but for most people that discuss this, it is close enough to include.

I don't think trms was wanting to have a semantics argument here, just a fun discussion of the knives closely linked to movies and their history. But maybe I'm mistaken, so there it is.
