Q = "What if it were my car?"
"I'd still give it a ticket, but with infinitely more regret"

Another quote from same movie - actually it's used in each one of this series of movies.

"I'm the police chief. I know everything"

Is it from an adaptation of one of the Jesse Stone novels?

I may need to rephrase that last one.....the sixth movie in this series is being filmed in Halifax this year.

There are 8 books so far in this series and the main character is in three other novels by the same author. The author's other novels spawned a TV series (and several other TV movies) about a PI in a major Eastern seaport. The star of the old TV series died in 2002. The star of the current series of movies was an investigator in a previous TV series. Both stars have played in standout western movies.

So between 2005 and now, there has been 5 movies released in the series (with a 6th currently being filmed)? The only film series that has made that many sequels that fast to my knowledge is Saw :\

JAB, you have the con.

The quote IS from Jesse Stone: Sea Change. I came across the series by accident researching some of the Spenser for Hire episodes. I watched Sea Change and became hooked on the series. Tom Selleck does an excellent job as the Marlow-esque Jesse Stone. Dialogue and character development are typical Robert B. Parker. Parker has continued the Spenser serie of books and has 38 Spenser novels to date - 7 of which have also been made into TV movies and 2 that have Jesse Stone working with Spenser.

Standout westerns?? Robert Urich was in Lonesome Dove and Tom Selleck in Quigley Down Under. Doesn't get too much better than either of those.

Take her away, JAB.

Go ahead and post another Java - I'm going to be out of town for the weekend and probably won't get around to checking BFC until *gasp* :D Monday evening. Besides, I've never even watched the flicks in question; I just remember seeing them on the shelf at Blockbuster (just took a wild stab based on your clues). :o

I hope everyone has Happy and Safe 4th!

Thanks, JAB. If you enjoyed the Spenser for Hire series give the Jesse Stone movies a shot. Selleck does a good job. Stay safe and stay sharp.

Q= "Rosey, if this is a shine, I'm coming back and ironing your face!"

john wayne, right??

crap, ill think of it.

Bingo!

John Wayne turned down the role of Dirty Harry before it was offered to Clint Eastwood. After the success of Dirty Harry....he tried his hand at rogue cop in this one. Not a bad little movie. Though about using Myrna's line, "You're the detective. Detect." at first.

Bring it, Gerber!!

Alright here is one... :D

"Well, when an adult male is chasing a female with intent to commit rape, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy."
