Movie scenes that stick in your mind

I see allot of references to Jaws, anf they are all good.
IMO the best single scene on film is in Jaws. The next time you are with a group of people (probably just guys:p) and this scene comes on, watch how everyone stops what they are doing and watches without saying a word. Pretty intense!

How about the waxing scene from 40 Year old Virgin? If the words Kelly Clarkson don't make you smile after watching that there is something wrong with you.

OK, It's an old one and kinda korny to some but... The scene when Yoda lifts Lukes X-wing fighter out of the swamp and Luke says "I don't believe it!",, Yoda says, "That is why you fail..."

I have no idea what the movie was. It was a 70's movie and a woman was body painted. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a x rated movie and was one of the sexyest scenes I ever saw. Btw haven't seen it since I was a kid. :)s

Animal House- the food fight, when Blutarski smashes the guitar, and the 'rubber glove' scene.

Full Metal Jacket, the begging where the DI is going off on everyone, :D some great lines in there "You look like you could suck a golf ball through a water hose" and "Texas, only two things come from Texas, steers and queers and I don't see no horns"

Appocolyps Now---"Charlie don't surf!"
Jeramiah Johnson---"Skin this one pilgrim, and I'll get you another" after the old trapper has a grizzly bear chase him into the cabin.

Johnny Ringo: [Ringo steps up to Doc] And you must be Doc Holliday.
Doc Holliday: That's the rumor.
Johnny Ringo: You retired too?
Doc Holliday: Not me. I'm in my prime.
Johnny Ringo: Yeah, you look it.
Doc Holliday: And you must be Ringo. Look, darling, Johnny Ringo. The deadliest pistoleer since Wild Bill, they say. What do you think, darling? Should I hate him?
Kate: You don't even know him.
Doc Holliday: Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.
Wyatt Earp: [to Ringo] He's drunk.
Doc Holliday: In vino veritas.
["In wine is truth" meaning: "When I'm drinking, I speak my mind"]
Johnny Ringo: Age quod agis.
["Do what you do" meaning: "Do what you do best"]
Doc Holliday: Credat Judaeus apella, non ego.
["The Jew Apella may believe it, not I" meaning: "I don't believe drinking is what I do best."]
Johnny Ringo: [pats his gun] Eventus stultorum magister.
["Events are the teachers of fools" meaning: "Fools have to learn by experience"]
Doc Holliday: [gives a Cheshire cat smile] In pace requiescat.
["Rest in peace" meaning: "It's your funeral!"]
Tombstone Marshal Fred White: Come on boys. We don't want any trouble in here. Not in any language.
Doc Holliday: Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him.

What movie is this? Sounds kind of interesting.

For me it's from the end of the movie High Noon when Will Kane (Gary Cooper) throws his badge at the feet of the cowardly townspeople after they all refused to help him fight the bad guys. I won't forget the look of sheer disgust on his face after realizing he had no REAL friends in all the years he lived in that town.
Great actor.

Tombstone is a great movie. Heres one of my favourite quotes - Val Kilmer says it in about the most sarcastic voice possible

Doc Holliday: [taunting a card player who believes Holliday is cheating him] Why Ed does this mean we're not friends anymore? You know Ed, if I thought you weren't my friend... I just don't think I could bear it!

^ Yep! "I'm yer huckleberry!" :)

Another card scene is the one with "Ike" (I think?), also with drawls of sarcasm:

"Why Ike poker isn't really your game. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!"

From the greatest "guy film" ever made (IMHO) - Michael Mann's "HEAT". I loved this film so much I could quote parts of it verbatim back then.

The scene is Robert de Niro (McCauley) and Al Pacino (Det. Hannah) now meet face-to-face at diner. An icy confrontation of sorts with nerves tested as each size each other up. Dogged detective meets hardened bank robber, both alpha males in their respective crews.

Hannah: You know, we are sitting here, you and I, like a couple of regular fellas. You do what you do, and I do what I gotta do. And now that we've been face to face, if I'm there and I gotta put you away, I won't like it. But I tell you, if it's between you and some poor bastard whose wife you're gonna turn into a widow, brother, you are going down.
McCauley: There is a flip side to that coin. What if you do got me boxed in and I gotta put you down? Cause no matter what, you will not get in my way. We've been face to face, yeah. But I will not hesitate. Not for a second.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

McCauley:
A guy told me one time, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."

Fight Club: The whole scene before the first fight, right after tyler durden picks up jack.
Two quotes i love

Tyler Durden: You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your effing khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

and

Tyler Durden: We're consumers. We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession. Murder, crime, poverty, these things don't concern me. What concerns me are celebrity magazines, television with 500 channels, some guy's name on my underwear. Rogaine, Viagra, Olestra.
Narrator: Martha Stewart.
Tyler Durden: Eff Martha Stewart. Martha's polishing the brass on the Titanic. It's all going down, man. So eff off with your sofa units and Strinne green stripe patterns.

Also after meatloaf/bob dies all of the guys setting around chanting

"His name is Robert Paulson"
