Moving to texas from a big state!

Those are nice.
If you need any help setting up when you get here, let me know. I might be able to take a weekend and head down to Austin.

with the help of me and dave we could have your house and shop setup in no time. heck we might have it done in only a few hours.

Any bowie, dirk, dagger double edge, or like knife. Thats Fed. for all fifty states. Looking forward to you being Texas. I may very well be teaching a class at this years hammer in. Talking to Stout about it. My shopo is in Killeen. 70 Miles North of Austin, Home of Ft. Hood. The worlds largest military Base. And home of the guys who nabbed Sadam. Here in Texas, we like our Bowies. Here is a little dagger ground Bowie set called the Three Bears that should be great at a little Pig Hunting. MIke

Beautiful knives, sir!

If you have to leave the big state of Alaska, the big state of Texas sounds like a fine choice to this Virginian.:D

Thanks again for all the info and offers of help. Sounds like Texas will treat us good. My wife had a potential job in California, I'm glad we ended up going with Texas. I used to live in SD and it's beautifull but I think Texas will be a little more this Alaska boys speed. :D
I love guiness pimpin but I also brew beer! I might have to pick up some new equipment in Austin but I'll get back to work.

i guess ill have to bring more than a 6-pack of guinness. i might even pick up a bottle of jack daniels black label so we can have a few boiler makers. we would go from helping you unload and setup to helping you get loaded and of course take pics of everyone loaded. we just have to remember to stay off the equipment. HEHEHEHE!!! its going to be a great day isnt it. im going to have to try some of your brew. but since im irish i pretty much only drink guinness.

Anyone know of any hammer ins or happenings around Austin? Looks like me and the family are heading that way. Plan to attend the Moran school while we are living there. I guess this means cheap S&H from texas knife supply hehe. Not looking forward to moving my workbench and tools though.

Dude...yur gonna have to change your Alaska shaped beltbuckle for a Texas shaped one. :D I've never seen a people more proud of their state than TEXANS!

Hehe, no hard stuff for me! I used to distill a bit o white lighting back in my youth (dont worry statue of limitations has long since expired mods). Ever since I hurt my back and had to take meds for a year I cant drink hard alchohol or eat extra spicey foods (that one kills me since I love to cook thai, indian and chili, all hot!). Guiness is a hard one to reproduce due to its original brewing process. Also it tastes best with nitrogen instead of CO2. Most kegerators aernt set up for Nitrogen. :( We will have to see what we can do for you though. If i remeber right with guiness you remove a cup of wert and sour it with a specific strain of wild yeast then add it back in after the main ferments uptake cycle. My crazy Aunt will get into that Jack with you though.

I dont know if I can live with such a downsized buckle but I will try!

I actually have a great texas belt buckle I will have to dig out from my Aunt. Now if only I didnt sell my cowboy action shooting stuff, I'd be set.

you walk around with cowboy action shooting stuff and you will get funny looks. no one carries pistols out here. i live in the cowboy capital of the world and if you need some new duds just come out here and you can get setup. i bet you need a new cowboy hat anyways. if you wait for the right tim of the year you can catch all the good sales for the felt hats. for straw hats like what i wear you will have to wait til winter starts to get the good deals.

Hehe, I wuz just kidding about wearing my CASS gear. I have a beaver felt hat and some old cavalry boots though that should server me well. I think I still have a b western outfit I wore for state finals one year. It was a recreation of the maroon suede outfit worn by sherif Bart in Blazzing Saddles when he went to see Lilly VonSchtupp. I think I could draw some looks sporting that to the line dance! I hadnt thought about it but I will probably end up with a few new pairs of boots. I have wanted a set of anteater for ever.
