As an extra bump to this thread, I finally figured out what I am doing with the extra knives I still had from when @315 did his culling. I also have other various knives that have accumulated that I don't consider to be a part of my core collection, so I have put them all in a bag, and when I take out new archaeology techs into the field that don't have pocket knives, they get to pick one. I did it for the first time yesterday, and it was fun getting to be the traditional knife fairy (there are some non-traditionals mixed in, but just a few).
