Mr.Mofo cg sheaths

i agree 100%, there is a purpose and use for all. i use your sheaths when i raft or any other time i'm in water. i also use them when my knive is in the glovebox, a grub box or drybox being bumped around. when on my brown leather belt or my brown leather gun belt then i like to match it up with a brown leather sheath and holster. gives me more confidence when all my gear looks cool!:)
i would like one of your sheaths to fit a uncle mojo AND a mr mofo, yup thats two more ready to go!

I don't like any kind of sheath that puts HUGH rub marks from point to choil every time I pull it out:mad:

I hate Kydex:barf: :barf:
I'll take Leather any day:D

:mad:= Scratches
:barf: = Kydex
:D = Leather

for twice we agree!

there is no excuse for a scabbard to scratch your knife and i have never had leather do that.

and secondly where in the hell did all these new infi HOGS come from????

Hey Guys...

There ya go.. 1whobuys hates kydex.
Thats two different sheaths already..

Eric...

My turn, Kydex:
I love kydex because it's more durable, weather proof and seems to be more svelte.
I hate kydex because of the abuse to the finish.

Leather:
I love leather because it looks classy.
I hate leather because it always ends up getting beat down, you can't store the blade in it and it needs more care than the blade it's built to hold.

So in conclusion, I'll stick with my favorite sheaths. What sheath is that you ask, The Busse Combat Sheath of coarse :D.

Wow you are right Eric about pleasing people it is the hardest job of all.

Now 1WB & Skunky don't you know leather is murder!!!!Since we are all Jerrykrishnas lets protect our brother the cow & not use his skins for Infi wrappings & use the animal friendly product KYDEX to keep our precious knives & swords clean & protected.:D now lets go meditate, eat some granola, & burn some insence :p

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA:D :p :D :p

Oh & there is Tan kydex available.

Is it possible to line the inside of a kydex sheath with leather or someting else so the knife will not get scratched?

Hey Jim...

When you line a synthetic sheath with Anything you get the opposite effect...

You won't prevent scratching, you'll promote them.

Any material in the sheath will trap dirt/grit inside the sheath, making it impossible to remove.

If your buying a knife to look nice, then put it behind acrylic in a box to disply. If you buy a knife to use, then use it. Any scratching you'll get from synthetics will be a minor detail compared to the abuse the finish will see from chopping or what have you...

Hope that helps...

Well, I have sheaths made by both Eric and David and they are both great. I've got 2 Mr. MoFo Tactical Grades comming and I need to get a pair of good sheaths made. My problem is I need to find a Drop Leg sheath. Last time I checked neither Eric nor David were making these.

So... Eric and/or David, is a Drop Leg sheath an option you offer now?

Kydex/Concealex will not scratch any knife--on its own. When a knife gets scratched by a kydex sheath, it's because crud (that's harder than the knife steel) got stuck in the sheath. Sheaths can be designed to overcome this, though. One of the most important of these features, IMHO, is the ability to clean your sheath. This is easiest accomplished when all the fasteners on the sheath can be easily removed, but can also be done if the sheath just has a drainhole.

If Eric and David don't over a drop-leg option, check out GPB's (Frank Butterworth IIRC) sheaths; he makes a great drop leg, and I've seen it several times on Mojos.

Thanks Andrew,

I remember seeing Frank's work on Mr. Mojo's in the past and forgot his handle on the Forums. I will try to contact him if both Eric and David are not offering this option. Does anyone have good Contact Info for him they might be able to e-mail me?

Thanks,

Lorne

Hey WTF...

Yaa I don't do drop legs at all.
With the style of sheath I make it doesn't work too well..
You need a sheath that is riveted down both sides...

I just don't do those types of sheaths...

If they are made properly, they work very well...
I've seen some that just weren't designed well and they tend to be top heavy, and the handle wants to flip over all the time. The other thing I don't like about them is that you HAVE to wear a leg strap with them...

I prefer a higher riding rig that sits close to the body...

Would love to help you with it,, but if someone can do a dropper for you,,then by all means...
