The very best i can give them is: (( not appropriate ))
They didn't have product in displays when show opened. Came back hours later and had sorta stocked displays. Asked about this knife, that knife, another knife , and yet another blade. They didn't have any of the 4 standard knives I asked about. Got aggravated and left.

Came back Saturday and couldn't get anyone free to talk to me.

Came back Sunday and finally asked a person behind the counter about anything they might have on site, and found everything they had was at the high end of the price range listed in their catalog.

Bottom line for me is (( not appropriate )) MT.

Had heard of their poor customer service and now have proof of it.:thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn:

they were kind of the same way at SHOT '09...not really interested in answering any questions, unless you were a MASSIVE distributor or dealer...how sad :(

Interesting. I went by their booth early Satuyday afternoon. Seven or eight guys behind the counter chatting each other up, zero customers. I walked around the displays for several minutes and was totally ignored. Display cases were maybe 50% filled. Couple of large cartons with product sitting on the floor.
Shruged and gave my money to ProTech instead....they were very nice and helpful.

Odd way to do things, sort of made me wonder why MT bothered to show up.

Dont know why some people continue to buy these knives. Everything about them screams they dont really care. Someone from that company really needs to step up
and show some leadership to get their act together.

I stopped by and asked a question about the blade steel on their fixed blades. They let me check out the knife and answered my questions.

Saturday, I stood at the counter for over 20 minutes, with over 5 people gathered around the table in the middle of their booth, before Tony Jr walked over to help me. Even then he couldn't answer my pricing question and had to get one of his people to help.

As a customer- you have the choice to select where your money goes. Not sure any of this is a surprise though- from what we have all heard and read. I do think they have some really nice products-and the OTF's are of the finest quality- but customer service has a lot tto do with selection. I work a lot and real hard for my money- so I take that into consideration. I think there blades are really over priced as well- which is why I prefer Protech as well. Good blades, but just dont think you get a lot of bang for your buck personally.

I was also very disappointed with the Microtech booth. Their help seemed a little slow and unfocused. They had nothing out, nothing new besides one new knife. Microtech is one of my favorite knife manufacturers but now I am not so sure. I hope they can get there act together!!! There new catalog shows a few new knives but only one was there.

at shot show 2010, going to the MT booth was to oggle at the girls. I tried asking about a knife, didn't expect the local model to know much and was right. She tried to get one of the other guys over, but couldn't get his attention. didn't really bother again for SHOT 11.

nice stuff, but not a friendly company unless you are waving money around was the feeling I got.

that was only for the knife, though. The guy demo-ing the guns was pretty friendly.

When i walked up to the "booth", at first i didn't know what they were. It finally dawned on me that, "hey, it's MT!"....cool!

Everyone ignored me except some young kid behind the counter. I asked if i could see one of their models( i had never held one) and he gave me his personal one out of his pocket!.....i was like "wtf?" I played with it for about 15 seconds, gave it back, and then just walked off....pretty sad, because i was a potential customer(who spends a lot of money on knives)

Disclaimer-I have been friends with Tony Marfione since 1995, and have watched his son grow up into an amazingly good, hard-working person.

That said.....Microtech makes great knives, and they struggle with providing excellent customer service....they are always trying to do better in that area, but it is not coming easily or consistently.

People find it very easy to take swipes at Tony from behind a keyboard, but just once, I would like to see someone attempt it in person at a place like G3. The haters can get stuffed.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Wasn't being a hater, as a matter of fact I'm sitting here with a Vector in my pocket and would love to be able to pick up another OTF. Tony Jr. was very friendly, but the basis of my comment was that their staff at Blade did leave some to be desired. It was as though they weren't really sure what they were supposed to be doing there.

Who's fault is that?, surely not the customers, potential customers or customers/dealers waiting for repairs with no reply. Great knives are only as good as their customer service.

Very easy to make threats behind a keyboard also.....
I don't buy knives without proper customer service. If i were to, i would have no problem letting them know about it, even in person.
