I've seen a couple of M4 mules posted in individual threads, but thought I'd start a general thread for Mule Team 2.

Feel free to add your pics to this thread!

Here are a couple I finished recently:

First one is black and red G10 with and Anso-inspired texture.

Next is contoured carbon fiber with matte finish.

Potterma, that carbon fibre handle looks very nice.Does it have a smooth finish or is it grippy in texture like the carbon fibre handle on the Military with CPM S90V blade.

I have come back to these pictures over and over again and I have to say, the top knife pictured is absolutely beautiful. If I had the talent to create such a beautiful handle, I'd be in pig heaven.

Man I LOVE that Carbon fiber. I might have to try that on one of my M4's.

Raj, I haven't handled any of spyderco's CF handles, so I can't do a direct comparison. The finish is smooth with a light bead blast. Its quite grippy, but not a peel-ply finish.

DWRW - I purchased the CF from Halpern Titanium. Very good quality stuff. No inclusions at all!

Willieboy - Give it a try, you might surprise yourself!

Thanks for all the kind comments, all.

potterma,

Thanks for the info on the CF.

Is there any different technique to finishing CF than micarta or G10?

Or is it pretty much the same and you just sand to shape?

What is your final grit on yours?

Hi Potterma, regardless of having or not having a peel ply finish, that handle looks very very nice.Good job.

DWRW - Finishing CF to a matte finish is about the same as G10. Sand to shape, ending at 400 or 600 grit, then bead blast to get the finish you are after. CF takes a really nice polish, to, though.

Here is another CPM-M4 Mule.

This one with matte contoured carbon fiber over Hunter Orange G10:

Took a couple weeks of back and forth email before settling on that combo. It's amazing! Cannot wait to get that in the mail. Thanks!:thumbup: :D

I honestly don't get or understand the appeal of orange. Seems like a lot of guys want orange folders around here. I can't understand why.....

That said, that Carbon Fiber over orange makes orange look very cool.

Reminds me of this:

Very cool.

The "cool" black makes the orange work. ;)

I really have no idea how I got this picture. A really good closeup of the contoured + polished carbon fiber work done by potterma.

Damn nice knives, and Challenger T/A. The R/T Hemi with the shaker hood is my dream car. I recall the way the whole inside of those cars swayed back and forth with the torque of the engine at idle. It wasn't long before the dash & console developed a squeak. The shift lever had it's own dance. The floorboards always hot from the engine.

The rumbleing, bubbling of the hemi at idle. What a car! Joe
