MT03P – Mule Team Fixed Blade featuring CPM®-S90V

So I got mine today, and Damn this is a nice blade. So light and just the right thickness to really take advantage of the premium steel. I've been playing with it for hours (I'm lucky I haven't cut myself yet...That's a sharp and thin blade.) I have to reiterate here Sal, Thanks much! Iraq can be boring (there's not much to do in your off time, surprisingly enough), and making handles for this gives me something to do, and a pretty nice memento. Also, no problems with the finish. Looks great.

@»»CarpScot... i like the job you've done... i would like to know more about the way you fix rivet on the handle... witch size, witch machine you use... where you order them?? thanks!

They actually aren't rivets. I just used the 1/4" stainless steel tubes that are generally used for lanyard holes and epoxied them in. I picked them up at Jantz, but most places that sell knife kits/supplies should have them.

other things... i've seen on EbaY a Mule Team S90V sold for $75.00 USD
the dealer says it's a rare blade and it's numbered as #075V.
on the blade leftside of Spyderco logo there's written 075V and if your looking on my boxes where it's written "KH" on EbaY it's written 075V

so i would like to know if there's a series of Mule Team S90V nombered... the dealer says it #75 of 200! but in the details of the blade 500-600 units only??? it's a joke or what???
dealer name graymatter80

That's from the Spyderco Collectors Club. The most members allowed is 200, but that number (I believe) hasn't been hit yet. Those knives are numbered for each collector (001V - 192V or whatever number the club has.)

ice-pic thank you for the complement. Yes indeed handles are very comfy and fat. That adds a bit of weight but since I got a bit larger hands it is very fitting in my hands. :D

Yo matdigger are those rivets or screws or what holding the slabs on,I like the baby moon effect.

On the Spyderco webite forum he said they were bolt for a local hardware store. The other side of the scales has a hex nut i think.

matdigger,
I really like the job you did on those scales. Are they wenge?

Thank you and yes you are right they are made of wenge. To be honest I did not like to work with this wood, it is too hard to work with.

Here are some more pics.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I wanted to share my second S90V Mule attempt. The scales are Ironwood with black liners and the hardware is stainless.

Thought I would share my S90V Mule as well. This is my first attempt, but the Spyderco forums have some good tutorials that I used as a guide in building mine. I ended up going with stabilized redwood for the scales. After sanding to 400 grit and lots of buffing with red rouge, it isn't nearly as glossy as I would like it, so I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong so I can get the shiny factor up. Here it is as of now:
