It's hard to really visualize who you're talking to without a few of those "worth a thousand words" pictures. So show us some mugshots. New rule: If you're over 60 you can include some pics from your younger days. (I'm 63 so I qualify :D)

Before:

I used to run our local "High Altitude Mini-Marathon" (20 km) back in the 80s. That's my younger son Kevin beside me. He's taller than I am now and recently ran his first marathon in Athens.

After:

I no longer do any road racing, but I still play a little raquetball. My passion is hiking and backpacking.

Meet "Dingus", my 90 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback. He's my constant companion on all hikes over terrain where dogs are allowed. I hike long distances alone into the mountains above Los Alamos where we have a lot of bear and mountain lion, so having a good dog along has it's advantages. Dingie's been trained to keep track of me and stay reasonably close ever since I brought him home at 9 weeks old. Occasionally, if he get's out of sight, I hide from him to test his training; without fail, he's finds me within 30 seconds. Dingus never let's me down.

Great pics Brian. I hadn't seen much beyond your avatar before. Thanks for not leaving me hanging with this thread. :D

Yeah, I remember. You did that cool post on Tropical Alpine survival recently. Thanks for an identifiable pic of yourself. I'm a happy camper too. That's because I take along a little bourbon or Irish Whiskey. ;)

Today, I am celebrating the Irish part of my heritage with Guinness. I am a mix of several nationalities. The PC version would be: European Mongrel American. :D

Plus some Native American.

This pic was taken on my 10 year anniversary as a firefighter back in December.
