Crimany at 48 bucks to my front door how could i pass it up. woot woot mule team here i come.
 
Going to call in the morning, but how could they be out of stock already? I think many many people who emailed and got the ground support in on this one early are going to be a bit angry. I know I will be if all 600 are gone in just one day. Wasn't this supposed to be a kind of test bed for the steel types? I mean, what feedback does Sal get if a bunch just go any which way on Ebay? I know it is each person's right to sell the knife, but why even call it a mule then?

WOW .... I just looked again and the web site said they are already OUT of STOCK......:(
Glad I happened to see it earlier when I did...... :thumbup:
 
OK, I checked the website just now, and was able to put in my order. I guess it was a temporary issue, maybe they are putting the stock into their website inventory slowly as to not generate orders they cannot fill.

Can't wait to make some scales, my first foray into knife making (building?)

What is the Spyderco Mule Team?

Spyderco’s Mule Team officially launches with a single-piece fixed blade pattern. The blade is leaf-shaped with a sharpened and finished PlainEdge blade but with an unfinished handle providing some a do-it-yourself opportunity. The unfinished handle has a series of holes for attaching a custom handle or for wrapping in cord. All Mule Team Pieces are sold without handle scales or a carry sheath focusing the project on the blade steel and opening the door for the owner to create his/her own handle scale and carry options.

How many and how often will they be released?

Our plan is to release several variations per year using the same fixed blade pattern produced with different exotic steels. Each steel offering is limited to approximately 600 pieces and engraved indicating the steel used. Variations are priced accordingly with the only cost variable being the steel itself. Prices will be announced prior to the release of the upcoming model.

How can I buy them?

All purchases are handled through Spyderco Factory Outlet (SFO).
 
I was just gonna drive down, but with free shipping it's cheaper than making the drive.
 
I'm glad they got more inventory into their system. I went ahead and ordered one. I may find myself exploring all of the fine meal options offered by Chef Boyardee for a week as a result, but I think it will be worth it.

A can of tuna fish mixed in with store brand maccaroni and cheese (poor man's tuna helper) will also stick to the ribs. ;)

I see that shipping is free if you enter your order now...

when I entered my order yesterday I had to pay $8 for regular ground shipping.

What's the story here?
 
I believe there must've been a change in shipping policy / costs at the SFO ... It used to be free US shipping a year ago...
 
I'm not sure you read what I wrote. I paid shipping yesterday when I placed my order for the Mule. Someone just reported the shipping was free for the Mule. I went back to the site and added the Mule to my cart and began checkout. Shipping was free. I did not complete checkout.
