Multi use Camp Knife

I like my ESEE Izula, Izula 2, RC4 & RC6. My favorites of that group are the Izula 2 & the RC6. I would also consider a custom from one of the makers, like a blind horse knives bushcrafter, or a kephart from ML knives.

I have had a lot of knives come and go, but my RC6 has always stayed cause it fits my needs well and is a lot of knife for the money, the Izula 2 is newer and isn't going anywhere either. I have a Spyderco Bushcrafter that will stick around for a very long time cause it fits my hand like a glove. Last, I have a thick but nice knife from Bill Siegal in the 5 inch range that will be in my BOB. paired with a couple Fehrman blades.

I'll also recommend an ESEE-4. It is my go to woods/food prep knife. Plenty of blade for just about anything. Not too thick, not too thin. Unbeatable warranty. Carries well. A fantastic knife at any price but a real bargain for what you'll have to spend for one. Here is my user when it was brand new. I had just had it convexed....

There are SO many good choices out there.

Becker BK7, BK9, BK10, BK5---yes the 5.

Ontario Spec-Plus series.

ESSE 4,6.

1/4" thick knives IMHO, are AWESOME !!! Most just don't like them because the edge usually needs to be thinned a little. One of my sharpest knives is 3/8" thick at the spine. You can do small things well with the right big knife, but it sure is hard to big things well with a small knife. Bring enough knife.

Thanks for all the input, it's great to know others out there that love knives, for whatever reason, as much or more than me.
After the dust settles from the holidays Ill be picking up a bushcraft, I'm a spydie guy. It just seems right and it looks like a nice knife, although, over priced a bit compared to some of the great esee knives mentioned here. I can also see a izula in my future, I'm sure that will start another obsession.
Merry Christmas all

I love my BK2 but it is a bit thick for finer work. if you're not looking to get into super hard use than a thinner blade would be the way to go. maybe one of the short ka-bar knives, something from ESEE, or maybe something from the ontario spec-plus line.
