Multiple

Yes. I bought 2 of the recent sprint run Spyderco PPT's. I've wanted a PPT for a long time but never found one available.

Suddenly Spyderco made one with CF and S90V and I was sold. This is like the perfect knife for me and I had to make sure I'd have a spare if I broke or lost my primary.

The PPT isn't leaving my pocket anytime soon. I'd like to say it might stay there for good, but you know how that goes:D

When Spyderco announced they were discontinuing the Slysz Bowie, I grabbed one while they were still generally available. When I got it in hand, I ordered another before they were gone entirely.

I have multiple versions of other knives but mostly to have different variations of the same knife.

I knew I wasn't alone :) good to know for sure. I guess the first time I felt like buying multiples was the William Henry Lancet, had to get all the variations of their scales they offered, but ended up selling them all. It is only recently that I find myself on the verge of getting another of a brand of knife, as I am really thinking this might be the one, I can't pick a fault yet with it so, that is a good thing.

Now, the one I have, it is expensive, for me at least and probably most would say the same, a WE Minitor 801. They are going for just under $300 so not a good thing to impulse buy a bunch, but the one I picked has Titanium coloured frame, they make a blue and a dark bronze anodized versions as well. But my thinking was if, heaven forbid, I scratched the scales, being titanium the scratch would blend and not be so visible, but on the blue or bronze, you would always see that scratch. So I am thinking if I can get a couple knives sold, I would fund one of the coloured ones as a safe queen and then not worry as much about using this one.

Crazy right? but, when you have owned SO many knives through the years, it is a great feeling to at least feel, for a while, that you finally got what you have been searching for. Two months from now I'll come back to this thread and see if this all held true :)
Taking some photos tonight and will post some up later on.

Thanks guys/gals for contributing to this thread and of course, feel free to add images too, photos always welcome !

Yep, just recently. Liked my ZT 0609 so much I bought another.
I've had the same model in slightly different configurations many times, but only recently have I bought 2 of the exact same thing.

I keep doubles of some of my favorites. Spyderco Tasman Salt, Spyderco Tusk, Ferrum Forge Masterblaster, and Strider SnGs to name a few. I'm sure the original will last me a lifetime but... I got issues.

Not really in my case.

More like serrated and plain edge of the same knife or knives with the same basic platform but different (my Spyderco Endura, Pacific Salt, Matriarch, Byrd Cara Cara as an example).

I use all of mine and so far haven’t owned a knife that I had to have back ups of. Thant May change one day if I fall in love with a knife or find a smokin’ Deal that makes it hard to pass up buying a couple of the same...

Anyone ever buy a knife and like it so much that you feel like you need to buy another one so you can use one and have a safe Queen too?

Yes, there are knives that I love and would buy another but I just have not done it yet. I really like new knives so much that I don't feel "forced" to buy a backup. All 45 of my knives are safe queens... I wish that I had users but I just cannot see adding to my expenses.

.....I wish that I had users but I just cannot see adding to my expenses.

The hard thing would be to pick one, carry it and use it, as it is often said on this forum, life is pretty short...

Early on I fell into that trap. But then I started to realize that I had so many models that were similar enough to others, that buying multiples just limited the new knives I could afford.

And I think I've almost convinced myself that I won't bleed and die if I were to actually sell a knife. Gonna have to sell some to afford new models that have caught my eye.

I have two 0562's, one all black, one Satin+Orange. I am contemplating a second 0392BLK so I can modify it and keep one original, or basically have two versions. Other than that, I've been tempted to get a second PM2 with black DLC to compliment my Satin+Copper. I wouldn't get two identical knives just because.

Just took a few pictures tonight of my new one, a beauty and I am not a fan of carbon fiber as most people will have it too smooth or slick, these guys cut great grooves throughout to provide a solid gripping surface and still have the cool carbon fiber factor of light and good looking, nicely done.

Now, I know this would not be for everyone, which is a great thing, that is why there are SO many knife makers, designers and buyers out there, but for me, I love it...
