Multitools...Which do you carry?

Well, I guess I am the only one who likes the Supertool a little better than the Swisstool. I like alot of the features on the Swisstool, but like the pliers and the knife blades on the supertool better. I just ordered a Sog powerlock. Dexter Ewing loves his so I thought I would give it a try. I know that you can take the tools out of the powerlock and rearrange them, but I wonder if Sog makes substitute tools.

I examined every one in the case when I went to Plaza Cutlery a year or so ago. Ended up buying the Swiss Tool. I've never seen anything that could replace it.

The addition of SCISSORS would be great (if they have them on most (all?) of their knives, why not here?). Also: The knife blades and saws (four blades total) should all be ONE HAND OPENERS!!! That would ensure that nothing ever could match it (IMHO).

Swiss Tool, love the one I have, and know of several others that use theirs everyday. I recently finished a combo sheath for a fellow formite that holds the Swiss Tool and a Mini-Mag flashlight, it mounts vertical on the belt with a strap across the top of the Swiss Tool. It's a new pic on my web page, top right photo.

Bagheera,

It looks like we are in agreement on carrying the SwissTool and Micra. The Micra supplements the SwissTool well with its scissors, tweezers, and nail file. I also prefer the "eye glass" screwdriver on the Micra over the SwissTool's because it is much easier to hold for delicate work. I think that any scissors that they could put on the SwissTool would not be any where as good as the nice scissors on the Micra.

I also don't mind the SwissTool's lack of one hand opening for the blades because I use mine mainly at work, and two hand opening is less likely to draw stares from the sheeple.

If I need a one handed knife, I reach deep into my pocket for my KFF. I also like the idea that the SwissTool is an "SAK." The sheeple are used to the idea of carrying an SAK.

One thing I don't like about the SwissTool is the combining of the bottle/can openers with the screwdrivers. They can be hard to use in tight areas. I believe the Leatherman's keep their screwdrivers simple and uncluttered.

I dont own a Harley but my neighbor thinks I do. I just poor a quart of oil on my driveway every month and tell him its in the shop.

I have or have had the following multitools:
Supertool, Wave, Swisstool, Powerlock, Multimaster, Micra

I carry the Wave usually, but the Supertool when I think I may need something more heavy duty.
