Must haves in a 5 or less CRK collection

I might have forgotten it; but I still would have left it off my list. The small 21 is too small for me, and the Umfaan is smaller than that - you do the math. The only reason a Mnandi is on my list is for occasional carry as a "gentleman's knife".

1. Large 21 (blade of choice)
2. Inkosi
3. Umnumzaan
4. Any Sebenza with inlays (at least one)
5. 25

1.Umnumzaan old pivot
2.Large Regular
3.Ti-lock
4.Large 21
5.Small Insingo

I have an Inkosi so I'll choose the large Seb 25. That's it only two.

I would make my 5 all larges,
I'd have one daily user, it would be one I'd probably keep for a long time. Either a plain 21 or a 25.
I'd have one inlay based on my budget. Some inlays can be costly.
I'd have one CCG, I'm partial to a patriotic CCG's
I'd have one regular, then again, it would be based on budget. Right now the regulars are in demand which drives prices up.
I'd have one Wilson Combat Sebenza.

Like Ajack, I'm partial to larges, too, but have others. I do have just 5 CRKs and some of mine are quite similar to those mentioned above.

--My user and EDC work knife is a large KnifeArt CF21. It's probably my favorite knife, but sees some hard use and is far from pristine.
--My large inlay is a 2009, pre-Idaho 21 bocote. Just too pretty-perfect to carry and is my safe-queen.
--My other large is a WC 'Zaan which I carry, but keep nice. Way up on my list of favorites.
--Smallest is a snakewood Mnandi. Very pretty and my dress carry--always in it's leather slip--when I don't want to show a clip.
--Last is my small 21 cocobolo inlay, my first CRK, bought as a user and carried occasionally. I'm always back-and-forth on this one whether to keep or sell and pick up a larger CRK.

I currently own exactly five. While what I would have in a different world on a different budget may be different - here's how I got to five (in order, maybe). Also thinking about unloading the 25 and/or 21 Insingo and adding a Mnandi in snakewood or box elder burl.

Wilson Combat Star-Tac
Sebenza 25
Small Sebenza 21 with Dog Paw and Silver Contrast
Professional Soldier
Large Sebenza 21 Insingo

Large Sebenza 21 w/raindrop Damascus
Large Sebenza 21 w/micarta inlays
Large Sebenza 21 plain Jane (or Startac Umnum)
TNK Umnumzaan Tanto
Sm. Sebenza 21 Insingo CF

My CRK "collection" consists of a Sebenza (Starbenza) 25. The next must-have is a small one to round out the collection. Either an Inkosi or small Sebenza. I've been trying to decide on which for weeks now.

I would go with the Inkosi. Especially after owning and liking the 25. I know I like my Inkosi better then my small 21's.

That's the way I've been leaning. I have no experience with the 21s, but after disassembling & relubing the 25, I was impressed with the smoothness, strength & simplicity of the pivot/washer setup.

Original Umnumzaan
Large Regular
Large 21
Small Micarta Insingo
Large Raindrop Damascus in any configuration

Only three here:

1: Large Sebenza 21 plain
2: Umnumzaan (my favorite so far)
3: Small Sembenza CGG

Ones that didn't male the cut for me. Bought and sold

Small Wilson Sebenza
Sebenza 25 micarta

On the radar for #4:

Inkosi
Large micarta 21
small insingo 21
Nyala

Probably be a while before I pick up another though.

This thread is kinda stale, but I'll post anyway….

I just picked up another CRK on the Exchange--my first 25 and first Plain Jane--and I'm really diggin' it. Can't I please have 6 on my list and keep 'em all? Oh please, please, please….

I know which one's for me since I've sold most of my knife collection over the past 5 years, and just recently sold a few Sebenza's, with two being rare older large Regulars.

I love the Regulars and Classics.
The four I kept are...
* Large 1997 BG42 Regular.
* Small 1997 BG42 Regular.
* Large 2006 Micarta Classic.
* Small 2005 Micarta Classic.

I'm happy with only those four, but if I ever do buy more CRK's they'll be Regulars or Classics too.

I only own these 5 CRKs:

Large Regular (plain)
Umnumzaan
Small Insingo (plain)
Large Insingo (plain)
Small Inkosi

The last two are my favorites.

Buy them while you can! Noticed a lot more people have been looking for them

I own 5, and I'm happy with the 5 I chose:

Large 21 Insingo (plane Jane)
Small 21 Insingo (carbon fiber)
Small Inkosi
Large Inkosi
Umnumzaan

I'm looking at getting a Mnandi, and a large raindrop Damascus 21, but those are more collectibles than users. The five I chose are perfect for any / every EDC need.

You must to have a one piece in a collection of 5 CRK.. In my opinion, 5 one piece! Better if they are South Africa, but also USA.. But maybe also a Regular Sebenza..

Small 21 drop point(fine small edc)
Tilock(travel companion)
Large Regular(edc)
Large Insingo(indoor food specialist)
Old pivot Umnumzaan(outdoors friend) :)
