My 100th Chris Reeve Knife...!!!..........And Counting :-)

Congrats on a truly amazing collection and thanks for sharing your enthusiasm with us!

Now I am up to 101.....!!! Yesterday was my Birthday and my girlfriend surprised me with #101. A Beautiful CRK Nyala Insingo. I have looked at the Nyala for years, but just never pulled the trigger on one. When I saw the Insingo version, I thought that was uber cool and would make a great all around small fixed blade.
She bought 2 of em. One, the original version Nyala for herself and second, the Insingo version for me. Can't wait to try it out....!!!

# 101 Nyala Insingo - Continued from Page #1. Ran out of room due to the character count limit...lol...Yesterday was my Birthday and my Girlfriend Surprised me with #101. Its the Beautiful CRK Nyala - Insingo Version. She bought the Original for herself, so I was able to compare it to the Insingo version. Both are amazing designs. I have eyed the Nyala for years, but never got around to pulling the trigger. Now I dont have too. Blade is nice and thick, even at the tip. I can see it being a great all around small fixed blade that will excel at slicing. Can't wait to put it to use. Thanks Babe for the great gift.

Congrats, and Happy Birthday !!!

Thats a great gift she got you !

I've also been looking at those for years, but never pulled the trigger.
I went to look at some this morning, and I'm mostly seeing the PVD coated version.

Are they still making this with a tumbled blade ?
Has anyone used the PVD enough to see how it holds up ?
The PVD does look great IMO.

After looking at mine again, it may have that coating too. It was purchased from Knifeart and has a March 27, 2014 BD. It is darker and I never thought about it till you mentioned it. It is darker than the original one she bought for herself. I will have to look into it more. Honestly, S35VN is pretty good stuff, don't really see a need. Its supposed to aid in handling the elements and staining. Never really had too many stained CRK over the years and the ones I did have were way back in the ATS-34 days........I will also add that the handle on the Nyala Insingo is far darker than the one on the Original Nyala. Both great designs.

UPDATE: My Gf's is the original Nyala and has a January 2, 2014 BD. I just looked and hers is stonewashed and does not have the PVD coating. The handle is lighter as I stated above. SO its something that was added the first 1/4 of this year.

I did find this also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_vapor_deposition

This is so impressive and inspiring. I didn't realize how many variations of CRKs were available. And that Nyala Insingo is GORGEOUS... Congrats on an amazing collection and story. I am also I huge fan of the bocote wood. I just picked up a bocote inlay 21 just for gawking at to go with my Plain Large 21 EDC. That puts me at #2! Thanks for the great post. This is what make BF great

Thanks. I posted many pics of ones I have and have had. There are about a dozen that I have yet to photograph. I wanna get pics of em up soon. One is a beautiful Bocote Basketweave large 21. I don't have pics of every single one, But do of the bulk of em.

Great knife, and Happy Birthday! Mine was just yesterday, maybe there is a connection between that and our taste in knives?

Ho! Awesome thread knife brother!! I'm a noob, and was feeling guilty for purchasing my 3rd CRK (an Umnum) yesterday... But that guilt just turned into ambition! Thanks for enabling me (shhhhhh- don't tell wifey)...😃🔪

I have to update this list, thanks for bumping it to the too. Will
Work on it this week and give my insight I to each. Up to 110 now.

And I was about to comment on the lack of a Nyala!

The Nyala is a great knife, congrats.

One hundred and one CRKs. Jesus effing Christ, that's awesome.

That's like fifty grand worth of CRK.
