You're not alone.Great knife, allenC. I have a couple custom 110s in BG-42 and I don't recall the Bos HT etch.
That's a beautiful knife.

:thumbup:Confederate, real studs don't need thumb studs.
All the customs I have with pins (a small "accumulation" of about 8 stag and woody 110 with pins) have only three.
The center "pin" is for the rocker/spring and covered by the scales.
You guys are making me want a 110!
I really like 110's but don't currently own one, i only own two Bucks a 124 and a 119.
However here in Canada SIR is now selling those Cabela's Alaskan Guide series S30v 110's.
They look great but i'm not that familiar with S30V steel.
Any comments on the S30v steel in the 110's?
I also kinda like finger grooves should i forgo the Cabela's Buck and maybe get a Custom 110 later in the year?
Allen, Was just brousing your pics again....
When did you get the walnut???
Just wondering about the 2004 year stamp?
I received it the same day that I posted the pictures....11-14-07.
I suspect that Buck has a certain amount of blades already in stock (BG-42, ATS-34, damascus, etc...), perhaps sitting in bins for years, just waiting for a custom 110 to be ordered that requests that particular steel.
I also suspect that ATS-34 is not near as popular as BG-42 or S30V since it's an "old" steel.
So, the blade for my new 110 was probably sitting on a shelf or in a bin since 2004.
It's really kinda sad if you think about....some poor little ATS-34 blade, created by Buck Knives and heat treated by Mr. Bos, just sitting there, waiting and waiting for the day when Mr. Richard Rishel will come and fetch him off the shelf to become part of a cutom 110.
In a wierd way, it's kinda like an old dog who is finally adopted from an animal rescue shelter, after years of seeing folks pass him by to adopt the young pups.
